The House Of Pain 2

Welcome to this new release of House Of Pain 2. This 10 level PWAD has been converted to the ZDoom format and now ZDoom 1.23 beta20 or higher is required to play it. In the new release I've corrected some bugs (mostly texture alignments) and added some of the new stuff supported by ZDoom like polyobjects, deep water, 3D bridges and ACS scripts. Many of the maps have undergone some major "restructuring" in their areas and new areas have been added as well; for example Map01, Map03, Map05 and Map09 have been heavily modified while Map07 is the one that has been less modified.

File description: as you may or may not remember the House of Pain is the name of the fourth map in the third episode of Doom called "Inferno". House of Pain 2 contains 10 new levels that will take you from an infested human base to the fortresses of Hell. Here's how the episode is set:

Looks like a force field blocking the access to the HQ.
04 - Command Center Your orders are to disable the mainframe here.
05 - Nukage processing The processing plant at work.
06 - Gate to Hell The demons' dimensional gate is waiting inside that building...
07 - House of Pain (2) Does the brown brick theme fit well the House Of Pain?
08 - Isle of Fear This is not exactly the place to go on holiday...
09 - Fortress of Gloom You wonder how gloomy are the inhabitants of the fortress...
10 - Point of No Return Will you get back from the Point Of No Return?


The first five maps were originally designed to be part of the Rogue Marines 2 episode, which I decided to cut short due to problems related to its DeHackEd patch. The other five maps were designed specifically with a hellish setting in mind.

When playing remember that bringing along with you stuff from the previous levels may help, anyway you can still play each map separately even if there may be shortages of ammo in some spots: never waste ammo in a useless way.

Cooperative play is supported for up to 4 players, but sometimes it could get hard due to shortages of ammo/equipment; if you'd like to try these levels in coop mode I'd reccomend to play with object respawn activated.

Deathmatch mode is NOT supported; all the maps lack the deathmatch starts, moreover the levels weren't created for a head-to-head purpose.
