Sadam Hussein came to power in 1979 and has led his country through two costly wars. After the Iran-Iraq War Sadam wanted Kuwait's Oil to rebuild Iraq. Soon after he was at war with the US. During the war he would spend the nights in one of his many bunkers and occasionally would tape a message and air it to his countrymen. The Coalition focused on cutting the Iraqi forces off from Sadam Hussein orders. By attacking radio relay stations, bridges and other means of communication Sadam could not give orders and thus the Iraqi Armed Forces were just waiting to be finished off. He does not have a military background but he had the mind of a ruthless dictator. He has showed he is ready to get his way by any means when he used Chemicals on Iran and then on the Kurds in the North. However he chose not to use chemicals against the Coalition fearing reprisals from the US.
