After more than 11 years in the Orbit, the Soviet-built Mir space station will soon return to Mother Earth

Today, the Russian-built Progress space rocket took-off from Baikonur Space Center Airfield in Kazakhstan on its mission to take down the Soviet-built Russian Mir Space Station.
Progress is carrying two Russian cosmonauts and one French astronaut who will be the last men to set foot on the MIR. The astronauts' mission is to enter the space station and fire its re-positioning engine, so that they would set a pre-specified course towards Earth.
MIR space station will crash in the middle of the Pacific Ocean on March the 6th, 2001. Sorin will be covering that story as well.
