Monday, March 12th, 2001.
A US Navy F/A18 Hornet from USS Harry S. Truman missed a target during a US/Kuwaity/New Zealand/UK training exercise, dropping a bomb straight upon the ground personnel.
Five American enlisted men and 1 New Zealand-er died instantly, with 7 other wounded (five Americans and two Kuwaiti soldiers). Kuwait protested to the US Embassy regarding the incident. George W Bush held a moment of silence during his diplomatic speak in Kuwait City. Training will continue, though.
