The Balkans, powder-bag of Europe, but also a powerful stronghold of ex-communist incompetence and lack of professionalism and ethics ?
Some people believe that they can deal with their own lack of judgement and professional incompetence by accusing the other people who's projects always work. I mean just look at Bulgaria for example. In a quick-look you'll see that they have just the same streets full of criminals and lowlife people like Bucharest, just that they have it throughout the country. The real diffrence however is that while Romanian criminals do not use force against anybody they see on the streets and are well-organized, use advanced military tactics and strike against well-defined objectives, their bulgarian counterparts can never achieve such level of cooperation between them and are not known in the international world for organizing anything, so they spend their time and energy on attacking anybody and anything that moves in their own neighbourhood, maybe because they don't have the necessary means or judgement to move on to the next 'hood and link-up with the guys there too. Everybody who passed through Bulgarian theritorry in the last decade has been robbed, beaten, herassed and so forth and so on, because of random agresivity and public violence of the bulgarian deliquents.
Unfortunately, we find the same chaotic situation in the Bulgarian press, government, military and social life as well. Just the economy seems to be more organized and that only happened recently.
Press
The Bulgarian Press is the most unprofessional press I have ever seen in my life. It is well known that even "big time" press agencies and stations, like CNN, EuroNews, AFP (Agencie France Presse) and many others always make huge and silly mistakes, coming sometimes of giving wrong nombers in their jurnals, wrong dates and even wrong names of people and places. Some of these agencies have been always throwing an arogant look towards the rest of the world that they scrutanize, like CNN and especially AFP, which has a failure rate of over 50% in their news (?!), while others are just being ignorant and speedy.
CNN is subject to a change of attitude since 1999, but the rest and especially AFP remain at the level where they first started decades ago: amateur.
The Bulgarian Press however is the only one in the world which dares enough to publish not only "uncertified", "unchecked" or even "uncorrect" data as CNN, AFP or EuroNews, but they dare the very thing that defines misinformation, which is publishing data that you KNOW is wrong, even data that you KNOW it's exactly the other way around than what you are writing.
