Balkans Syndrom hits Romania

After American, British, German, Italian, French, Dutch and other KFOR members and Kosov War veterans, Romanian soldiers present in Kosovo accuse having the Balkans Syndrom

Today, the first Romanian soldier which was present in Kosovo peace-keeping force last year accuses of having the Balkans Syndrom. Maistru Militar (no US/Western military rank equivalent, as Romanian system has 12 ranks between Sgt and Lt compared to only 5 of Western systems) Gheorghe Mitu has accused the same symptoms as the already famous radiation disease caused by suspicious depleted uranium rounds in the A-10 Warthog.
First symptoms of the disease were experienced by M/M Mitu in the 24th of may 2000. Since then, he had countless sleepless night, unbearable pain, sickness, he lost a lot of weight and strange marks started to appear on his body.
Doctor Liviu Matcau from the Neurology section of Iasi General Hospital treated M/M Mitu between the 25th of may and the 2nd of july 2000, but he could find no solution for his symptoms. He stated that the only conclusion that those symptoms lead to, is radiation exposure.
Dr. Cornel Mitroiu, the Military Doctor of M/M Mitu's unit stated a cold and suspicious "no comment", just as Western military doctors keep on stating ever since this story got out to the light.
I sure hope that all those brave men and women from both sides of the Kosovo War will get their syndrom recognized and treated sooner rather than soon, because there's no shame bigger for a military force, any military force, than the one of not taking care of your own men and leaving them in sickness and hardship.
