| My all-time favorite movie is called 61*. It's about the 1961 season where 2 Yankes, Roger Maris (Barry Pepper) and Mickey Mantle (Thomas Jane), were chasing Babe Ruth's homerun record. Everyone wanted Mantle to break the record, not Maris. More to the end they booed Maris when he hit a homerun, even in Yankee Stadium. After Mantle got sick and took a flu shot from the doctor in the hip, his hip got infected. Mantle dropped out of the race and had to be hospilatized. Eventually Maris did break the record. That is just the main story but there is so much more to it. It really is a GREAT movie and if your interested in watching it, it is on HBO quite a lot. I think anyone that watches it will really enjoy it!! |
