KING CRIMSON BIOGRAPHY
In late 1969 when the first incarnation on King Crimson was breaking up Fripp faced the withdrawel of Ian McDonald and Michael Giles, and asked them to stay with the band in spite of Fripp's will to quite they said to Fripp, "King Crimson is your band" And that goes without saying King Crimson begins and ends with Robert Fripp.

King Crimson was organized in early 1969. The line-up consisted of Robert Fripp, Ian McDonald, Michael Giles, Greg Lake and Peter Sinfield (who wrote the lyrics to the first lp, In the Court of King Crimson) King Crimson in those days was the opening act for many bands such as the Stones, but stole the show many times cause of their unbelievable performance. In late 1969, Ian and Michael left because of the musical difference and stress of a long tour, this is when the first King Crimson collasped.

After the 1969 collaspe, Fripp and Sinfield agree to continue and the second album was recorded "In the Wake of Poseiden" this was in the course of member changes. As a result many members took part in it. Those who particapted were of course Robert Fripp, Peter Sinfield, Gordon Haskell and Mel Collins, Ian and Mike came back temporally, Peter Giles and Greg Lake who stayed for awhile until he left to form ELP.

Things stayed like this through the third lp "Lizard" however after that album Fripp tried to change his classical formalistic or structuralistic approach to improvisational approach. And then in the Islands Fripp quested this way more and more with blue or soul style musicans. This included Collins, Boz Burrel and Ian Wallace. As a result, it created the music from the clash of intellectuality and physical performance, this way went far away from what Sinfield wanted to express.

Sinfield wrote lyrics which made fools of the other three members, Collins, Boz and Wallace, who couldn't understand Sinfield's artistic poems.

In April 1972, Collins, Boz and Wallace withdrew just before this in December 1971, Fripp gave Sinfield a ring which said, "I cannot work with you anymore" this solved the musical difference between the two. Finally in Janurary 1972, Sinfield left and that shut the door. In the period of 71/72 Three albums came out and it was Fripps and Sinfield band.
