DAWSON LEERY Dawson is the base of the show. He is a big movie buff, and is currently writing, filming and directing the movie, in which Joey, Pacey and Jen all star. He has been life long friends with both Joey and Pacey, and he has recently met Jen, who when she first came to Dawson's Creek, he really liked. He has also been distrubed by hthe knowledge his mother had an affair, and he tried to consule them and they are in the process of getting a divorce. But it is Joey who Dawson is in love with and both have since admitted the same to each other.
Dawson's mother Gail Leery is a tv anchorwoman and had an affair with her co-archor. Dawson's father Mitch Leery whose marriage ended, despite him wanting for it work. JOSEPHINE (JOEY) POTTER Joey's is currently Dawson's girlfriend. Tall and fresh-faced, she's a cynic with a chip on her shoulder, even though an undercurrent of insecurity runs beneath her steely exterior. Joey's mom died of cancer and her dad's in jail, so she's being raised by her older sister. Jeoy doesn't have the best reutation in town because her sister Bessie, is pregnant and all three of them are in the same house.
