THE VIDEOLAND VIEW: "Soul Food" regular Vanessa Williams (not the former Miss America) reports the series troupe is going to have to rush back into production on the Showtime family drama because of those darned expected strikes.
"Ordinarily, with our schedule, we'd be back in late March, early April," says Williams.
"But we're going back in February or maybe late January."
There wasn't enough hiatus time to try to sneak a film in so Williams has been concentrating on her debut album of songs and poetry.
"I have to get about ten more songs done, but I'm taking my time because I want the product to be really good," says Williams, who does "storytelling with a jazz, funk kind of feel."
The actress also provides one of the voices for the upcoming syndicated animation series, "Heavy Gear."
"I was so pleased to break into the voiceover market. It's very lucrative, and you can just roll out of bed, do it like four hours a week.
     "It's a sweet little gig."

She should put words to the Melrose Place theme. That would make a wonderful cut for her album.
