Died after being thrown from or kicked by his horse. In the Abbey of St. Albans there is a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary donated by John St. Leger and Thomas de Hoo. John de St. Leger sought protection for his journey to Carmarthen, Wales in 1322. The subsidy rolls for Hertfordshire indicate that St. Legers were paying taxes on movable property in 1301.
