He moved his family to Nova Scotia, on the "little schooner Pompey" - the first ship of the season in Chebogue, Yarmouth June 9, 1761. It was a vanguard carrying 3 families from Sandwich, Cape Cod Perry, Landers, Ellis. Moses settled on Crawley’s Island, in Chebogue Harbour. In Jan. 1764 he had 9 head of cattle, 13 sheep and 6 hogs on 2 acres, but soon had more than 1000 acres, and moved to a section on Shirtleff’s Point called Rockville.
