In 1770 he moved from Cape Cod further "west" - Berkshire County, which later became the town of Lee. Here Arthur was one of three "Selectmen." His and Caty’s gravestones are still standing in Fairmount Cemetery. A battle in the Revolutionary War (Shay’s Rebellion) is reputed to have been one over the troops of General Pattison, by disguising "Mother Perry’s Yard Beam" as an artillery fieldpiece, and bluffing the opposition into retreat.
