Erastus died May 3, 1882 in Ogden, Weber, Utah, at 84 years of age.

He married five times. He married Lucinda Gates in St. Johnsbury, Caledonia, Ver, March 20, 1820. Lucinda was born in Acworth, Sullivan, New Hampshire September 19, 1797. She was the daughter of Thomas Gates and Patty or Lucy Plumly. Lucinda died January 5, 1874 in Ogden, Weber, Utah, at 76 years of age.

He married Patience Perkins in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, April 4, 1852. Patience was born in Woodstock, Windsor, Ver December 19, 1783. Patience died April 28, 1862 in Ogden, Weber, Utah, at 78 years of age.

He married Sally Maria Barber in Salt Lake, Salt Lake, Utah, April 7, 1853. Sally was born in Marcellus, Onondaga, New York April 13, 1811.

He married Mehitable Sawyer in Salt Lake, Salt Lake, Utah, September 11, 1857. Mehitable was born in Andover, Oxford, Maine October 1, 1806. Mehitable died June 30, 1886 in Ogden, Weber, Utah, at 79 years of age.
