Warsawpack - Gross Domestic Product

What can I say about this cool-ass album? Well, this review is coming to me very slowly, as I have nothing at all to compare them to, and there is just so much to discuss about the album. Rage Against the Machine meeting Dave Matthews? Nah, that doesn't give them quite enough credit. Warsawpack is just a band that has a killer flow while still having all sorts of politics influence their music to create a truly memorable experience while still forcing you to shake your ass. 7 Canadians work themselves crazy to create this lush soundscape and the seething, politically-charged lyrics that make the band just that damned memorable. Truly transcendent in nature, this album will cause any and all listeners to drop what they are doing and focus on every beat, every word, every message that is purveyed by the group. I'm going to end the review with these lyrics, just examples of how cognoscent this band is in the issues that concern each and every individual in the planet : "as doctors talk shop racing to save us/from multi-drug resistant strains/farmers ponder grain/all the rice and the wheat with the/genetically altered types of double helix". I believe that this album can be picked up in any well-stocked record store, but you can also pick up a copy at http://www.g7welcomingcommittee.com .

Rating : 8.2/10.
