A Tribute to Harry Carey

Legendary Chicago Cubs sportscaster Harry Carey, 83, died Wednesday, February 18, 1998. Carey died four days after having a heart attack at a Valintines dinner with his wife, Dutchie. Carey died having learned 48 hours earlier, grandson Chip was in line for full-time broadcasting with the Cubs. He will be remembered for his fun loving character and his love and enthusiasm for the game of baseball. We will always be in a debt of gratitude for the laughter, and excitment he has brought to us over the years. Funeral services will be held on February 28 at All Saints Cemetary in Suburban Chicago in a private service.
