Here we pay tribute to the individuals who's who of the behind the scenes of The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. These are the individuals that helped turn the Dallas Cheerleaders into America's Sweethearts. |
In Alphabetical order |
Shannon Baker Cheerleader 1976 - 1980 Asst. Choreographer 1981 - 1982 Choreographer 1983 - 1992 |
Shannon started with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader in 1976 as a Cheerleader. She continued for 3 years, and returned as the Assistant to Texie Waterman for 1 year.
Shannon continued the tradition that Texie had established and help cement the tradition of hard work and precision dancing on the sidelines. |
|
Debbie Bond Cheerleader 1976 - 1980 Asst. Choreographer 1981 - 1982 Choreographer 1983 - 1992 |
Debbie was the key element for the organization. Apart from screening fan mail and all correspondence, she also took care of the special arrangements for Suzanne and the Cheerleaders. She worked under Suzanne from 1982 (earliest mention) up until 1989. In the 1989 season, Debbie also became Director for a short period of time after Suzanne had left (without mention) the same year the team transferred ownership. |

Greg Danison Seamstress 1996 - Current |
I don't have any info on Greg,
other than the visual inspection done by millions
of fans every year. So far, no complaints!
If you have any information or a photo of Greg, let us know! |
|
Kelli Finglass Cheerleader 1984 - 1988 Asst. Director 1989 - 1991 Director 1991 - Present |
Kelli, a Dallas Cheerleader from 1984 to 1988 cut her teeth in 1989 as Assistant to Susan Mitchell. Learning the ropes, she picked up the reigns as Director for the most well known Pro Football Cheerleader organization in 1989
Kelli updated the traditional uniform to compliment the western flavor and style. She has continued the direction and didn't miss a single step maintaining their status as the Premiere cheerleading organization it is today. |
|
Leslie Haynes Cheerleader 1983 - 1985 Asst. Choreographer Choreographer |
This photo of Leslie was taken at a press conference and I apologize for the fact it was the only picture I have of her.
|
|
Susan Hudson Administration Asst. 1984 - 1985 |
No information currently available, but that's not to say that Susan did a bad job, I just don't know...
If you have any information on Susan or a Photo let us know! |
|
Tina Kalina Cheerleader 1984 & 1989 Coordinator 1992 - 1996 |
I am not too aware of all the functions that Tina was in charge of, but I imagine that she handled all the necessary arrangements for the Cheerleaders. The flights, buses, and other transportation as well as accommodations and bookings. I'm sure she did a wonderful job and had a fun time while doing it.
|
Judy London Cheerleader 1985 - 1987, 89 Asst. Director 1991 - 1992 |
Not sure about Judy's job other
than to oversee the Cheerleader organization as Assistant
Director... But...
Any information or work photos of Judy would be appreciated!
|
Suzanne Mitchell Director 1976 - 1989 |
She over saw all aspects of the Cheerleaders and devoted long hours to develop the group into a first class organization in addition to being Tex Schramm's secretary. Taken as something to do in her spare time, she made the most of it by traveling with the squad, going to rehearsals, screening requests for appearances, planned trips, judges auditions, and merchandising. I consider the biggest contributing factor for the success of the organization. |
Kim Nippler Cheerleader 1978 - 1980 Asst. Choreographer 1982 - 1983 |
Not much information is available on Kim, other than she was a Cheerleader for 3 years. She returned two years after that to help Shannon baker as Assistant Choreographer. |
Tex Schramm Da Man 1960 - 1989 |
This is the man who had the creative idea to put cheerleaders on the sidelines. Tex hired Dee Brock to organize the first group consisting of models to double as cheerleaders. Dee argued that models wouldn't be able to withstand the Texas heat, and thought local coed high school students would fair better. Tex believed that sideline entertainment was to be the wave of the future. |
Sugar Official DCC Mascot 198? - 19?? |
This is one lucky dog. Susan Mitchell had come across
the little pooch and an instant bond formed between the two.
Sugar attended many functions.
Anyone with more information on Sugar, please let us know! |
Judy Trammell Cheerleader 1980 - 1983 Asst. Choreographer 1984 - 1992 Choreographer 1992 - Present |
Judy was a Cheerleader in 1980
and continued for 3 more years. Probably most well know for her
waist length hair she made lasting impressions on the sidelines.
In 1984 she started the road with the organization under Shannon Baker
as Assistant Choreographer up until 1992 when she took over the reigns
as the main Choreographer.
In the tradition set with Texie, Judy continues the tradition of innovative dance moves that set the standards for other to match. |
Paula Van Waggoner Uniform Designer |
What can I say here? This
has to be one of the corner stones to the success of the Dallas Cowboys
Cheerleaders. Designed by Paula, this blue and white trademarked
uniform can be recognized internationally by
millions of fans.
It is the most well designed uniform of all the NFL Cheerleaders, and although it has gone through some changes, in essence it remains the same. Simply..."Bra-vo!" Send us a picture! |
Texie Waterman Choreographer 1983 - 1992 |
Texie was the brains behind the moves. Trained in classical Jazz dance, Texie infused her knowledge of dance with 36 incredibly talented, beautiful and dedicated ladies to establish themselves the best Cheerleaders in organized sports.
Unfortunatly Texie passed away in 1996 from lung cancer. You may visit her resting place to pay your respects [click here]
There is a Scholarship in her name - [click here] |
