Development of New International Shooting Range
Everyone who shoots with a two stage trigger actually releases the shot
from a single stage situation (i.e. having taken up the 1st stage and
holding it on the 2nd, which due to the pause, sometimes quite a long
pause, becomes the same as a single stage). It is therefore logical to
shoot single stage from the outset. I believe that most people only use 2
stage because that it what they are introduced to on safety grounds,
which is of course another fallacy. Sorting out a 2 st. trigger takes far
too much mental effort. Get rid of the part that is irrelevant and work
on the part that actually fires the shot!
For the pole: I use single stage in all positions, 80grams.
From what knowledge I have of the 2000 series actions is that they
will shoot just as good as match 54's out of the box. I just purchased a
used
short barrel 2013, which i have only heard bad things about (i.e., the
short
barrel will never have groups as small as the long barrel's, and the same
with the action) but I have seen with my own eyes is that the odds of the
shooter challenging the group size is nearly impossible this is not to
say
that some don't shoot well, I have seen a 2013 hold 10.3 groups on the
UIT
target. And as a closing statement, the first place in the 2000 Olympics
in
the 3 X 40 used Unique (I think its spelled differently, but you can find
the
URL on the editors site) and the second and third use 2013's (I'm almost
positive), so it goes to show ya all that the 2000's will shoot!

[Editor - The comments I've heard are not limited to factory barrels.
Even
the guys at our AMU have had to do lots of work to get the action truly
stable where it will shoot well.]
Last time I tested my 2013 short barrel in a machine rest with precision
linear bearings at 20 m it shot 10 shots that would hold a spent
cartridge
in the hole.
System- Alloy billet stock. The action is fitted with an interferance fit
on
the sides(5 deg taper) and bottom with 4 screws .
Ammunition - Midas.
Dear Michael :
Is very nice for the shooters to read all the suggestions that our
friends at the net put inside you mailing list, our language ( spanish )
don t have any page like this,we have no books related with our
sport, only few coachs from Cuba were working here for a few months and
they finally left our country.
All coments or suggestions related with our sport at spanish language

Fellow Shooters,
We are a group of shooting enthusiasts from different countries who live
in
Malaysia. We are contacting you because there is an opportunity to
establish a shooting club as part of an existing recreational
development.
The facilities provided would include:-
Rifle ranges (Up to 1000 yards)
Clay pigeon ranges
Trap and skeet ranges
Pistol shooting ranges (indoor and outdoor)
Air weapons ranges (indoor)
Members individual weapons would be transported by an appointed carrier
to
the secure armoury on the island and returned by the same means. Weapons
could also be stored in the secure facility between visits for shooters
from countries, like the UK, where handguns are banned.
The ranges will be located at Pulau Jerejak, a tropical island near
Penang,
which is being developed as recreational facility. Accommodation will be
provided on the main island which is a popular tourist resort and has
ample
entertainment facilities for members who wish to bring their
families.
We have estimated the cost of a one week club trip including
accommodation
in a three/four star hotel, transport of weapons, transport of shooters
to
and from the ranges, annual membership and range fees would be around 400
US Dollars per head for one week and 500 US Dollars per head for ten
days.
The cost of flights would vary from country to country.
We would like to take advantage of this opportunity, but there are not
enough local members to justify the development of the ranges. We would
like some feedback from clubs in other countries. Would your club be
interested in affiliation so your members could shoot here? Is this
package
competitive? Would your club be willing to participate in competitions?
Do you have any suggestions as to what else we could include in the club
activities to make it more successful? For example what other
disciplines.
We would greatly appreciate your help and support in this.
[Editor - an interesting concept. Of course, if you wish to hold
sanctioned ISSF events, it would have to meet all those standards. Plus,
if you wish to host major events like a World Cup, you need at least some
electronic targets that would be quite expensive.
For me, I wouldn't fly around the world just for a vacation to shoot at a
nice range. However, I would do it if it was for a major match that I was
able to shoot in and I had the time and money to go.]
