A post by Scott Pilkington regarding his tour of Germany:
"At this moment I have 19 names confirmed for this trip and another
5 or 6 who have said they are coming but have not sent a deposit. This is
just about a full house for this. If you want to come please let me know
ASAP, and what airport you will be flying out of. I have been making a
lot more trip arrangemnts over the weekend and should have an exact
internary up within the week."
I don't know about the P70 but usually there is a screw at the back of
the action for this, typically inline with the regulator spring. More
importantly are you sure you want to make a big adjustment here? I assume
you are shooting 10m match, in which case 140 shots is enough for most
eventualities. If you need more get a second cylinder. I suggest this
because a change in velocity may well effect accuracy (it could improve
it, but probalbly won't). You will certainly have to do some serious
batch testing from a bench rig after altering the velocity.
Im a very fan of your mailing list, it it very usefull, by the way, can
you tell me something about cleannig my prone jacket?
You have mentioned before, but it only said that you can apply water and
then press it, to recover stiffness, but what i wanna do, is clean
it...it is a Kurt thune one, made of leather and canvas, well i hope you
help me, if you want to visit our home page is.. http://www.tirocr.com
Does Anschutz make available uninletted blank stocks?
Here's the project: Winchester 52C. Current stock has neither a
handstop rail or a good adjustable buttplate. Want to put it into
an ISU legal Walnut or alu stock - preferably with as little work
as possible, yet with the look and feel of an Anschutz stock.
Thanks,
Peter
As for the blank stocks.
This is old information and things may have changed but Anschutz make stocks
for their rifles only.
Several private US stock makers made thumb hole stocks that had the butt
hooks and so forth.
My suggestion is to go on an investigation of existing stock makers still in
production... My guess, there is not many left as the 52 and 40 X is now
history for the most part. As for Alum, that you can have any machinist
machine a stock for you based upon the current stocks. The fixtures can be
purchased from Anschutz or some other provider.
Cannot be more of help as the rifle you refer and the stockers are now
History for he most part. Look around Peter.

Physical Training exercises...for the shooting athlete.
Hello every one,
For some time now, I have been thinking about a question on physical
exercise that many of you have asked me. Haven't really had answers for you
other then the Tai-Chi exercise that is not only for the physical self but
also for the mental/physical aspect of the shooting athlete. This was
acceptable for the duration until I can find another that will help.
While at Barnes and Noble, I found a book written by Bob Anderson. The book
is titled "Stretching" ISBN 0-936070-01-3 and is very good.
The main problem is that many of the typical military and physical exercises
are not really appropriate for the rifle or pistol-shooting athlete. Such
exercises were designed for other exertion and work purposes except for the
competitive rifle or pistol-shooting athlete. So for a long time the lone
athlete does the best they can without much guidance for them on physical
exercise. As shooting is 98% mental and 2 % physical, it doesn't appear
that any physical exercise is necessary but that is not so. To match the
exercise to the athletic technique Tai-chi is the best as it exercises both
the mental and the physical. However, as we have seen in the Olympics,
stretching is a very important aspect to the over all fitness of the
muscles. Stretching is a simple, painless way of getting ready for
expanded exercise movement such as Tai-chi or upcoming competition.
Stretching is not stressful. It is peaceful, relaxing and non-competitive.
Any one can be fit, and you don't need to be a great athlete. But, you do
need to take if slowly, especially in the beginning. Give your body muscles
and mental abilities time for adjusting to the stresses of physical
activity. Start easy and be regular. When you are stretching regularly and
exercising with Tai-chi frequently, you will learn to enjoy movement.
Stretching will make your muscles very flexible and the position easier to
construct. One of the determents of the shooting position is muscle
failure to conform and correctly flex into the newly constructed shooting
position. Stretching and Tai-chi will give the muscle flexibility and the
mental to neuromuscular controls required by the shooting athlete. Good
shooting to all.
With the air rifle shooting season winding down, several of us were wondering if
air rifles, particularly spring piston types, suffer from lack of use during the
summer months. During the months from May to mid-September many of us do not
fire the rifles at all, and we were speculating on the effects of this
inactivity on the springs, seals, and such. Would it be better (for the rifles,
not our scores!) to fire a few rounds each month to prevent these parts from
remaining in the same position for such an extended period? Any other tips
regarding storage of pneumatic or SCUBA guns? Thanks!
Tom Neuser
