VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Pavel Bure had two goals and an assist and Alexander Mogilny added a goal and two assists as the Vancouver Canucks continued their recent mastery over the reeling Los Angeles Kings with a 4-3 victory Thursday night.
Donald Brashear also scored and Adrian Aucoin had two assists for Vancouver, which snapped a four-game losing streak. The Canucks are 8-0-3 in their last 11 games against the Kings and 10-0-1 in their last 11 home contests with Los Angeles.
Bure entered the game with only two goals in his last 16 contests.
"I don't think it's a really big deal that I got a couple of goals, the big deal is we won the game, Bure said. "It's a great feeling when you're winless in a few games and finally get a win. I do think I could've scored even a couple more goals tonight, especially the one empty-net that I missed from the red line."
Jeff Shevalier, Kai Nurminen and Ed Olczyk tallied for the Kings, who are 1-9-1 in their last 11 games. They haven't beaten the Canucks since Dec. 28, 1993.
Kirk McLean made 27 saves for his first win since Nov. 11.
"They didn't put much pressure on us tonight and that's why it looked liked there was so much room out there," Mogilny said. "When a team gives you too much room, it looks like you're working so hard and creating lots of chances. Every time you give a good player some room, they can do good things."
Brashear's fourth goal of the season with 2:08 left in the second period extended Vancouver's lead to 4-1. But Nurminen scored his seventh goal 5:31 into the third period to pull the Kings within 4-2.
Los Angeles pulled goaltender Stephane Fiset for an extra attacker and Shevalier scored a power-play goal, his first, with 94 seconds to go, drawing the Kings within one.
Bure's first goal of the game and 12th of the season 7:17 into the contest gave the Canucks a 1-0 lead. Mogilny tallied a short-handed goal, his 16th, with 6:27 left in the second period for a 2-0 lead.
Olczyk's 10th goal with 4:26 remaining in the second cut the margin in half, but Bure's second goal of the game just 52 seconds later restored Vancouver's two-goal lead.
Fiset stopped 35 shots but dropped his sixth straight decision.
