The news was not all good for the Flyers, however. Defenseman Paul Coffey suffered a concussion after a collision with teammate Eric Lindros with 6:32 left in the first period.
Coffey was taken to a local hospital and was expected to remain there overnight for observation. The Flyers said he will not make the trip to San Jose for Thursday's game against the Sharks.
"I'm a little dizzy, lightheaded and have a sore neck with a big welt on the back of my head," Coffey said. "But other than that, I feel great. I definitely didn't see him (Lindros), I just remeber Janne (Niinimaa) with the puck and I was going up the middle. He didn't give it to me, so I turned to go up the ice and I don't remember anything else."
"I was still in shock after what occurred in the first period," said Lindros. "I was in a funk all day. The guys are really concerned about how Paul is and we went to see him after the first and second periods and thank God he's all right. I don't want to remember that."
Philadelphia is 12-0-2 during its unbeaten streak and took sole possession of first place in the Atlantic Division, moving two points ahead of idle Florida. The Flyers are 5-0-2 in their last seven road games since a 4-1 loss to the New York Islanders on Nov. 27.
With the score tied at 2, LeClair, who lost out to Tampa Bay Lightning winger Dino Ciccarelli in fan balloting for a starting spot on the Eastern Conference All-Star team, took a third-period shot from 10 feet out on Vancouver goaltender Kirk McLean, who couldn't control the rebound. LeClair, who was driving towards the net, had the puck deflect off his chest to give Philadelphia a 3-2 lead with 12:46 remaining.
LeClair provided an insurance goal when he deflected a shot from Mikael Renberg, who was on the right boards. The shot went over McLean, who had committed his body for a low save on Renberg's attempt.
Lindros tied the game at 2 with a power-play goal 1:09 into the third, and Joel Otto capped the outburst with a short-handed score with 3:23 remaining.
"We got going to the net in the third period, we started really keeping our shifts short, we were just firing the puck at the net and they went in," Lindros said. "The goals weren't pretty, but they all count."
Ron Hextall made 17 saves for Philadelphia. McLean stopped 25 shots for the Canucks.
