Everard De Barres
Grand Master 1146-1149?

Everard de Barres is listed in many accounts including our own as Grand Master from 1146-1149, but there is some doubt as to whether he was ever a Grand Master at all. Some historians claim De Barres was a Regional Master. This theory is substantiated by the fact that the Templars own constitution required a Master to be elected and reside in Jerusalem. De Barres never went to the Holy Land until some time after 1146.
