Communication Satellite Monitoring System

The Communication Satellite Monitoring System (CSMS) is a turnkey, fully integrated, semiautomatic system capable of monitoring a given L-, C-, or Ku-Band RF environment and detecting, confirming, and reporting on Signals of Interest.

The Communication Satellite Monitoring System (CSMS) provides for the demodulation, demultiplexing, and identification of specific parameters of communication and telemetry signals. The system is capable of monitoring, but is not limited to, Single Channel Per Carrier (SCPC), Time Division Multiplex (TDM), Frequency Modulation/Frequency Division Multiplex (FM/FDM), and Telemetry signals.

Operation of the system has been automated to facilitate efficient operation through the extensive use of computer workstations, easy-to-use human-machine interface techniques, highly interactive graphics displays, automatic message generation, and base storage and retrieval. The system can receive tasking information and ephemeris and can transmit monitoring reports via an integrated external communications system. The CSMS is configured in an open, modular architecture, allowing easy expansion of signal monitoring capabilities and system maintenance.

The broad system capabilities, flexible monitoring equipment, and integrated operation provide for a high- performance, efficient, low-cost space monitoring system. The CSMS is the result of more than 30 years of GTE's experience in developing space monitoring systems.
