SURVIVOR OF SATELLITE WARS:
1985 November 19 (NB) --
NTT (Japan's Telegraph and Telephone Corp.) decided (11/13) to
use the satellite of Japan Communication Satellite Corp.(JCS).
NTT plans to use the satellite mainly for emergencies as well as
for communication with isolated islands. Currently, three
companies have been planning to launch communication satellites
in Japan. NTT's decision has apparently nominated the winner
of the game. Japan Communication Satellite Corp. has another
strong associate for the marketing activity of its satellites.
That is NEC, which has been planning to set up a venture
business with JCS.
