Template Poems - They say..But I say..
Give students the following formula:
They say...
But I say...
The pronouns can be changed, eg. doctors say, teachers say, parents say, etc. The sequence may be repeated as many times as necessary for the poem, and extra lines added.
Example
They say
My parents say that I'm lazy,
But I say what's the hurry?
My teachers say I'm Stupid,
But I say it takes one to know!
My friends say I'm selfish,
But who needs friends like that?
My dog just looks at me and shakes his head:
Maybe he understands me!
