Comparisons of Quantity:
As Much/Many as ...

The aim of this worksheet is to explain the uses of "much and many" and then provide practice. The worksheet can be used as enrichment, or for remedial work, or as the basis for a lesson plan.

Comparisons of Quantity Worksheet:
As Much/Many as ...

With countable nouns we use "as many as". Look at the following examples:
  • I have as many toes as you do.
  • She has as many degrees as Desiree.
  • We ate as many chips as they did.
  • Pierre plays as many intruments as Sipho.
Toes, degrees, chips and instruments can all be counted.
But with uncountable nouns we use "as much as". Look at these examples:
  • I have as much money as you do.
  • She has as much education as Desiree.
  • We ate as much food as we could.
  • Do you play as much music as you used to?
Money, education, food, and music are all uncountable nouns because you cannot have "three money", or "seven food".
