Malapropism Poems

Mrs Malaprop, a character in Shriedan's play, The Rivals was infamous for her transposition of homonyms with gay abandon. This template uses the Malapropism as a humorous device to encourage beginner writers to get a response.

A four line stanza is provided, and the student must substitute malapropisms.

Here is an example:
I thought that I would turn Queen's evidence,
And shop you to my maternal parent.
You punched me in the countenance,
And called be epithets most foul.
But all my mother said was,
"Go fight your own battles, son."
becomes...
I thought that I would turn Queen's effervecence,
And shop you to my internal parent.
You punched me in the counterpain,
And called be epilettes most foul.
But all my mother said was,
"Go fight your own battles, son."
