Lesson Plan
This is an excellent lesson filler, and should take no more than 7-10 minutes to set up and run. It is a good idea to have a collection of cue cards such as these on hand for those odd moments, such as when you have to cancel your sheduled lesson because an assembley carries on too long, or all the boys are called to the hall, and so on!

Five volunteers, or nominated individuals, perhaps a standing group, are called to the front of the class, and each one is given a cue card, cut from the table below and pasted onto card. They then have a minute to read their card, ask any questions, and so on, before acting out the scene.

While this is going on, the rest of the class can be asked to observe the scene and can then vote at the end on who they thought was the villain who is to blame for what occurs.

During the role play, stand so you can prompt any actor who is not joining in.

The scene is a supermarket. High noon ....

Miss Winnifred Setshedi You are a cashier. You are ringing up items on the till, when the customer accuses you of ringing up an item wrongly. You never make a mistake! Last month you were named employee of the month... for the third time running! No one accuses you and gets away with it!

Mr Archie Sithole You have had a bad day. You were fired from your job, and your wife presented you with a lawyer's letter - she wants a divorce. Now the stupid cashier has rung up the wrong amount on the till. You are not going to be trampled on again! Stand up for yourself... after all, the customer is always right!

Mr Reggie Khumalo You are the store detective. An argument breaks out at the till. You know that the cashier does not make mistakes. You think the customer is wrong. How dare these customer's push you around all day. This one is not going to get away with it!

Miss Zola Thobo You are in the queue when a fight breaks out in front of you. You are late. Your children are waiting at home. You must get home now! All thios is wasting time. It is so stupid!

Mrs Lerato Sibiya You are the manager of the supermarket. You hear a commotion at one of the tills, and go to see what is happening. Head Office is coming at any moment to inspect your store. You must sort this out as soon as possible, or you will not get your promotion!
