I asked...
And he said...
Example
My wristwatch
I asked my wristwatch what he'd done today,
And he said, the usual, you know, don't you know?
This and that, this and that,
tick tock, tick tock.
I asked him what he'd seen today,
And he said, the usual, you know, don't you know?
Your sleeve, the hairs on your wrist,
the usual, you know, don't you know?
So I drowned my wristwatch in the sink,
Took leave of my senses,
Killed some time, so to speak,
And booked a flight to a desert isle,
Somewhere, you know, don't you know?
Where time stands still,
And we do our own watching.
