Jerry Carr

Gerald P. Carr came to NASA as a Marine pilot in 1966. His first and only flight was aboard Skylab IV as CDR from November, 1973 to February, 1974 with his crewmates Bill Pogue & Ed Gibson. The crew spent a record 84 days in Earth orbit. Prior to this, Carr served as a CAPCOM for several Apollo missions and would himself have been the LMP for Apollo XIV thus making him the 16th man to walk on the Moon were it not for budget cuts.
