-----Seth looks at the little girl and smiles, "Kazel, you and the girl hop up on the wagon. I assume you are taking her with us? We can be a married couple heading out of town with our daughter, a perfect disguise!"
-----The Dread Pirate smiles at the little girl and says, "Aye, I like children. Fry 'em up with a bit o' salt and butter, they taste just like chicken. That were a spot o' good thinkin, Kazel. What with our hurry to get outta town, we didn't really have a chance to properly provision ourselves fer the trip to Oakwood. She looks a bit thin, but I'm sure she'll be nice and tender anyways. Good eatin'. Not like dwarves, no offense Runik. But dwarves are all hair and gristle. And sour, like crabapples. Horrible eatin. And it'd take ferever to properly baste and fricasee Krord. And we need Brandel to keep Krord in line, so we can't eat him either. We couldn't even really eat Marast either, if'n he were here. Those elves are all pretty gamy, probably from all the roots and shrubberies they're always eatin. And I'd feel real guilty eatin either o' you two. Probably give me a horrible case o' indigestion."
-----Dread pats his belly fondly and continues unloading the loot, reminiscing "Ahhh, this all puts me in mind of this elven ship's cook we once had. Aloysius Phlegm was his name. Five hundred pound he weighed, if it was an ounce. We had to use a block and tackle to get him on board. Subsisted solely on a diet of plover eggs and small children. The things he could do with a rib roast you wouldn't believe. A virtual melange of gustatory delights. Insisted on usin' only human children though. Said humans reproduced like rabbits anyway, there bein so many of 'em they wouldn't really miss one or two here and there. He finally got so huge and bloated durin one voyage that he couldn't fit out o' the ship's galley door anymore. Which proved to be a blessin really, cuz soon after that the side o' the ship were stove in by the great dragon turtle, Gamera. It ate poor old Aloysius in two massive bites. Then it must have been fulled up, for it swam off, leavin the rest of us alone. Aye, Aloyius saved us all."
-----Dread sniffs sentimentally, then finishes hauling the booty into the tower.
-----Kazel dismounts and lifts the girl into the wagon. "Yea, I s'pose I'm taking her with me. It'd be a shame to leave her here when we did way more for the heroes of Hearthorn. She did show me where the horses are and might know more about this town. Maybe even learn to drive the wagon when not being eaten by Dread." She dusts off the girl and then turns to the others. "So, we're heading back to Oakwood? It's better to hide the loot there for sure, but what about Marast and the priests and Krondor? That and whatever Abbar is messing with here. Voruna and her folks might have a clue on this."
-----The Dread Pirate sighs disappointedly, then says, "Arrr, well I guess it'd be inhospitable of us to eat her then, since she helped ye find the horses and all. I'll be dreamin o' baby back ribs all night though. I suppose yer also right about Abbar and Krondor and Marast. There's too much goin on fer us to just weigh anchor and set sail. Tell ye what, how about we stash the gold in a good hidin spot, then you and Seth stay here in town and keep an eye on our former travelin companions. Ye can do it in shifts, Seth in disguise and you invisibly. The rest of us will hide out and look fer the dragon's lair til Abbar resurfaces or the heroes of Hearthorn ride out lookin fer Krondor. By then Marast and the priests might be back. We can plan some more once we get the loot nice and hidden. Anyway, let's all meet at the tunnel exit outside o' town. It'll be safer to plan from there. No pesky undead nor heroes rootin about."
-----The little girl watches everyone with large expressionless eyes. She quietly hides behind Kazel while she takes the butcher's hand in her own. She peeks out every now and then at the Dread Pirate.
-----"So we are to bury the treasure outside of town?" Brandel asks.
-----The Dread Pirate shrugs at Brandel, "I don't know right now if that's what we'll do with the loot or not. Let's just get it the hell out of town. And ourselves out of town afore the undead rise or the heroes of Hearthorn come calling. We'll figure out what to do with the loot once we're all safe."
-----The Dread Pirate waves at Seth and Kazel, then begins hauling a chest of loot into the tunnels, headed for the tunnel exit outside of town.
-----Kazel, Seth and the little girl board the wagon and ride off with the gray mare still pulling the wagon. The remainder of the horses has been tied to the back of the wagon. Kazel then slaps the reins and they start their slow movement toward the east gate of the town.
-----The prone and dead bodies make a sickening course for the wagon to travel, as Kazel must drive the wagon first to one side and then to the other just to miss an obstacle. Occasionally one of the wheels runs over something but no one looks while holding on to the rocking vehicle.
-----Soon they clear the market area dimly lit by sparely placed torches. A line of wagons waits at the main gate, while a few guardsmen check and talk with the drivers. Kazel pulls the wagon into the line and within the next few moments, two more vehicles pull behind the rogue's wagon.
