-----Krord grunts and nods his head. He quickly gets himself up and hobbles around a bit.
-----"Looks like we be goin' through that other tunnel," Runik says pushing his warhammer through his belt. "Ya gots all that treasure fer us to carry outta here?" The dwarf asks Seth with an enthused look.
-----Seth nods, "Yes, I have not counted it all yet, but there are some fine pieces, as well as almost 1000 gold and other coins. We should be having a fine time for a while to come."
-----The Dread Pirate looks somewhat cheered at the mention of the hoard of gold, despite the knowledge of his imminent joining of the undead class. He then says, "Well let's haul it out of here and stash it somewheres safe. I expect that most of it belongs to the townspeople up above and they might want it back. On the other hand, I think we earned it. And we'd have a tough time comin to a fair division of the loot if we let it be known that we had it." Dread begins shuffling towards the exit.
-----Seth carefully stashes his map case away. "I found some really interesting spells I would like time to study. Maybe Krord and Brandel could guard me and the treasure, somewhere safe...."
-----"Na, I think most of the townsfolk prefer brains over gold now anyway," Kazel replies, and then looks wistfully at the locked door before moving out. "Too bad though that we can't get some animated skulls."
-----Brandel smiles with a weary look. "Before we met with Sir Zantar, I would have demanded that some of this would be shared with the citizens. However, I cannot help feel that Zantar is partly responsible, in his own way, for the dire condition of the town."
-----"So it is," the young man says to Seth, "I leave it up to you, my generous employer, to claim this as your own."
-----Turning to the Dread Pirate, Brandel says, "If you do not wish to use your healing potion, I might suggest Runik take it. He is nearly as injured as I and we will need his strength to haul the treasure. I only hope we do not encounter any more undead."
-----"Which be remindin' me," Runik chimes in scratching his head. He lifts one end of a heavy treasure filled chest. "Oof!" the sound escapes him as he drops it back down. Standing back to survey the packed boxes with his hands on his hips, the dwarf says, "I s'pose Krord n' Brandel n' me can get two o' the chests 'tween us. That be leavin' one more."
-----The dwarf then glances at the rogues to see what they think.
-----The Dread Pirate looks askance at Brandel, then rummages through his pack, eventually emerging with his last healing potion, "Arrr, this be me last one. Don't spill it." He then hands the potion over to Runik and continues rummaging in his pack, pulling out a vial of holy water, which he then liberally splashes on his wound. Then, just to be safe, he quaffs the remainder of the holy water. Dread then begins lifting handfuls of gold out of the remaining chest and transferring them to his pack, until he can't carry anymore comfortably.
-----Seth shrugs and sees if he has any room in his pack and selectively begins to fill his pack and pouch. He motions for Kazel and the others to do the same.
-----"But of course," Kazel smiles as she starts to stuff her sacks and backpack with the remaining loot.
-----The dwarf drinks down the potion and nods at the Dread Pirate in thanks.
-----With that, the rogues hoist their filled sacks while the mercenaries gather the two chests between them. They then begin to leave through the door at the top of the platform. Behind them the dimly lit chamber resembles a charnel house with the heavy odor of burnt and decayed flesh in the air.
-----Down the tunnel they now stride with the Dread Pirate leading the way. He holds aloft a lighted torch mainly for Brandel's benefit, who follows right behind him. The huge Krord walks between the two chests while Runik hefts the back of the last chest. Seth and Kazel follow along last.
-----When they are a few yards down the tunnel, the torch reveals the still armored body of the skull man. The body lies in a large amount of blackish blood, which they can see as they pass, comes from the now headless neck. A few more feet on and the head is seen lying to one side of the tunnel. The pale thin skin makes the head truly resemble a skull.
-----The Dread Pirate leads them on. They continue as the tunnel heads straight seemingly to no end. Finally, after traveling for many yards, there appears to be something different up ahead. As they approach, the rogues can see an opening to the left in the tunnel wall that leads upward. The steps in the opening look old and well worn.
-----After testing the steps, Gimplefwick begins leading everyone upwards. The stone that makes up the way of their ascent appears solid although dusty and crumbling in places. The air here feels warm and stuffy. As they climb, cobwebs brush and stick to them.
