• Over 60% exhibitors believe that the 2007 electronics market will be better than 2006

• Both exhibitors and buyers are optimistic towards the electronics markets

The golden opportunity to meet world-class electronics products suppliers is coming. From April 14-17, the Hong Kong Electronics Fair 2007 will be held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Hong Kong Electronics Fair 2006 attracted over 51,000 international buyers. Among the 2,200 participating exhibitors, 41% of the companies were based overseas and 59% were Hong Kong based. 71% of the exhibitors were in the nature of business manufacturer.

According to survey findings, both exhibitors and buyers showed optimism on the electronics markets prospect in 2007 -- over 60% of participants believed that the 2007 electronics market would be better than 2006. Compared with 2006, traders anticipated that in 2007, there would be 11.1% growth in the electronics market in North America, 11.3% growth in Europe, 12.6% growth in Chinese Mainland, and 9.6% in Asia Pacific (excluding Chinese Mainland, Japan and Hong Kong).

In the fair this year, consumer electronics, multimedia & audio visual products, home appliances, telecom equipment, electronic accessories & security equipment will be exhibited by international suppliers.
