Community Rules

Golden Rule : You must be at least 13 years of age to join this community, as well as Livejournal. As far as things go this is a adult and mature community, and we don't want to deal with kiddies seeing or reading things they shouldn't or don't want to.
1.) Off Topic Posting is allowed, however it is preferred that the dicussion stay HP related. For personal problems, consult our healers over at comfybed

2.) Please post all your creations of the graphic nature at HgCh_Icons. Any posted in the main comm will be given a day and then deleted.

3.) Cussing is allowed to use at your discretion seeing as how we are all above the age of consent to speak whichever way we wish. However :
- Please keep excessively colorful words or discussions out of public eye. You'll be able to say whatever you want as long as you make sure those who don't wish to see it or read it don't have to. Be curteous and use a cut.

- Going along with the above, the following constitute the use of a LJ Cut :
  A.) excessive use of words other than "damn" "shit" and other cable words (non-cable words being "f*ck" and sexual terms)

  B.) sexual discussion. And no, talking about how "cute" someone is is not 'sexual'. Saying what you would like to do to said cute person while wiggling your eyebrows in the most naughty of ways is, however.

 c.) Sensative topics. This one probably won't come up much, and usually pertains to politics. When discussing controversial or sensative topics (such as terrorist attacks, pro life/choice and other such topics please be considerate of those around who this may have an effect on.), some people can become offended or emotional. Feel free to discuss, and they can feel free to not click your LJ cut! :)

And so now we've established a pretty wide range of freedom of speech. The moral? Be considerate and cut it. There are places however where we consider you mature enough to know to not use certain language or bring up certain topics. Please refrain from making us wash your mouth out with soap during general public activities :

- contest voting
- polling

-replying to posts which do not contain any of the above mentioned "Lj-Cut" topics (such as Updates and regular member posts)

- Homework Assignments (can you imagine Sprout grading an essay with "f*ck" everywhere? No. Be respectful to your teachers!)

- During Quidditch games. This means during play and in the Pep Squads threads. Everyone would like to watch, so please be considerate and save all your colorful shouts of joy untill afterwords, off the fields, and behind a cut. :D

- Icons and graphics. Please keep anything non PG-13 off your icons or graphics. Fanfiction is different. Stories are accessed through links, and come with warnings. Therefore, those who don't wish to read certain materials don't have to. Icons don't usually come with warnings. Again, this is just about respecting your fellow members.

4.) Harassment of any kind (verbal, sexual or otherwise) is strictly prohibited. There are very few restrictions on posting content, but in no way shape or form are you to make another member feel uncomfortable. This is why we use LJ cuts. But even if you do use an LJ cut, offending, hurting or abusing someone will be punished. First offence is a warning, second is banning. This is supposed to be fun. Making someone feel uncomfortable is the opposite.

- Slang. Don't use it when speaking about religion/beliefs, race or sexuality. This means that the words "fag", "nigger", etc are prohibited. They're just plain ignorant.

- Sexual/Verbal/Mental Harassment. This means imposing yourself on another with either unwanted sexual disscussion/innuendo, and bashing or berating someone in a rude mannor. Make sure that if you're "joking" with someone, they're comfortable with it!
