Nominating Committee

Purpose: To develop a diverse slate of nominees for the Board and present it to the membership. To develop a slate of candidates for membership on the Nominating Committee. To develop a slate of officers of the Board for the following year.

Composition: The Nominating Committee shall consist of seven members, six of whom shall be Board members, elected for two-year terms; three of these shall be elected one year and three the next year. The seventh committee member will be a non-Board member from the general membership and elected for a one-year term. The Executive Director shall be an ex-officio non-voting member.

Responsibilities of Committee:

1. ALL MATTERS BEFORE THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE SHALL REMAIN CONFIDENTIAL.

2. The Nominating Committee submits candidates for the Board of Directors and a multiple slate for Nominating Committee to the Board for approval and then submits the ballot to the general membership one month before the association's annual meeting. Election will take place at the association's annual meeting.

3. The Nominating Committee prepares the slate of officers of the Corporation and submits it to the Board for election.

4. The Nominating Committee is responsible for the orientation of new board members prior to the September Board meeting.

5. Elects chair for following year from committee members who will be serving their second year of their term.

6. Updates records of committee search annually.

Responsibilities of Executive Director:

The Executive Director is responsible for providing general support for Committee. She is responsible for submitting names to Committee for consideration. She is also responsible for meeting with prospective nominees to present programs.

Frequency of Meetings: As called by the Chair between October and May.
