Finance Committee

Charge:

Formulate financial policies and monitor the financial operations. Develop and implement policy regarding the investment portfolio; monitor its performance.

Objectives:

1. Advise the Executive Director and staff in developing the annual operating budget and advise on mid-year budget revisions as needed.

2. Monitor monthly financial operations.

3. Ensure that the financial status is reported monthly and the annual budget yearly to Board of Directors in a manner that meets their fiscal responsibilities.

4. Develop financial strategies to maintain YWCA services; develop appropriate policies.

5. Investigate and authorize major expenditures.

6. Formulate investment policies and procedures, monitor on a regular basis and recommend appropriate changes. Keep the Board informed.

7. Collaborate with the Personnel and Fund Development Committees to meet projected needs.

8. Review purpose of Unrestricted and Restricted funds and bring recommendation for allocation of dividends and capital gains; also, recommend appropriate expenditures, as well as any logical consolidation of funds.

9. Maintain a focus on implementing the mission.
