CURRICULUM STRUCTURE AND CONTENT
The curriculum consists of three modules that serve as building blocks to ensure that essential learning occurs for YWCA Presidents and Executive Directors. Each session contains approximately eight hours of training activities.
THE YWCA FOSTERS:
- respect for life and work experiences of participants
- a participatory mode of learning and decision making
- an appreciation and cultivation of diverse values and leadership styles
- the use of resource materials, content and concepts which are non-sexist and non-racist
- a commitment to advocacy for racial justice and societal change
- encouragement of risk taking for social change
- a spirit of dialogue, critical inquiry and openness
- realistic applications of learning
- recognition of real life ethical dilemmas and encouragement of the alignment of policies with practices
- a commitment to quality in material, delivery, and the total learning experience
- a leadership committed to the preservation and continuity of the YWCA movement

This course is designed using these adult learning principles:

DELIVERY SYSTEM & MEDIA
A variety of activities are used throughout the course to meet the needs of varying learning styles and include the following:
- class discussions
- group exercises
- videos
- role playing exercises
- participative lecture
- team exercises
- scenarios
- group round table
- presentations
