The Last Rites are a melodic anarcho-peace punk band with meaningful lyrics about politics, social issues, animal rights, human rights, enviromental issues, and so on. The Last Rites formed in 2002 with Andy on vocals and guitar; George on bass and screaming; and Joe on drums. The Last Rites played about 40 shows with that line-up. Some shows were disasterous and some shows were very energetic. People would always ask us to come and play. Then, in February of 2004, we all decided that we needed to take a break. After a year long hiatus, in 2004. R.J., former member of Crackdown and one on the wickedest punk guitar players in the world, has joined forces with The Last Rites to strengthen up the sound. The band plans to pay three shows in Yuma and possibly some out of town shows as well. All members of The Last Rites are currently active in Food Not Bombs.
