History.

The Yorke Peninsula Writers Group officially started in South Australia during 1990.

The first book was Top to Toe, Vern Star of Pioneer printing, gave generous support, providing the group credit for a run of 1000 books.

Having sold enough copies the group were able to pay the bill within 6 months.

The foreword of the first & second book was written by Max Fatchen. With the first official launch held at the Warooka hall.

For the first few years, though not a religious group, meetings were held at the Lutheran church at Minlaton. Currently the YP Writers Group meets at the Old Baptist church located behind the rest centre in Minlaton.

The Yorke Peninsula Writers Group aims to encourage fellow members and assist them in developing their writing skills.

Members are encouraged to contribute to group books/ booklets which the group publishes as a joint exercise.

The YP Writers Group also arranges speakers and workshops during the year. This assists with motivating members and improving their writing skills.

Members also share information on their personal writing projects and receive support from fellow members.

New members are always welcome.
