Valin and Ozzie 9

Ozzie sits at a desk in the far corner, his head pointed down at an article in front of him. The left side of his face isn't visible due to the hair deliberately combed over it. He seems extra quiet today.
Valin saunters into the room, proudly wearing a bruise on his cheek and a black eye. He moves up behind Ozzie, kissing the boy upon the head, "Hey, love."
Ozzie stiffens a bit, turning slightly to look at Valin, suddenly looking very worried. "..Valin, are you alright? What happened??"
Valin blinks, "Huh?"
Ozzie frowns a bit, "The bruises...."
Valin touches his eye, smiling sheepishly, "I just had a small wreck on the way home...back-ended some lady. My uncle was mad." He shrugs. He tilts his head to the side, noticing the change in the boy's hairstyle. He raises an eyebrow, reaching up to brush back the tresses.
Ozzie frowns, about to say something, but stops as Valin raises his hand. He moves backwards rather quickly.
Valin pulls his hand back, caught off guard by Ozzie's jerky retreat. He frowns, "Ozzie...what's the matter?"
Ozzie shakes his head slightly, but not enough to disrupt his hair, "...nothing..."
Valin scowls, "Don't lie to me."
Ozzie makes a small noise, once again shaking his head but saying nothing.
Valin seizes Ozzie's shoulder with one hand, firmly. Then, gently, brushes back the boy's locks...
Ozzie yelps, trying to twist away. Beneath his hair is a bruise much like Valin's, though it is accompanied by a small, jagged cut, obviously made by a ring.
Valin's expression darkens, "...who did this..."
Ozzie frowns a bit, remaining silent.
Valin tenses, "Who?"
Ozzie weakly raises a hand and touching the side of his face. "...it's nothing."
Valin growls, "Tell me!"
Ozzie flinches, looking away. "Does it really matter who it was? It's done..so can we just forget it..?"
Valin narrows his eyes, his grip upon Ozzie's shoulder tightening, "Tell me!" A few of the students look up, blinking or shrinking back.
Ozzie flinches once again, closing his eyes tightly. "N-no..."
Valin scowls, "Ozzie, this isn't a game. Just tell me. -Now.-"
Ozzie says nothing for a long time, finally murmuring, "My dad....now please, just forget it..."
Valin releases his grip on Ozzie, frowning and suddenly hugging the boy. "You don't deserve that..." he whispers.
Ozzie frowns, swallowing, "...he has a bad temper. I got him mad..."
"It doesn't matter."
Ozzie mms, leaning on Valin, "..he got mad because I said I loved you..."
Valin tenses, holding him close. It was his fault. It was all his fault...
Ozzie frowns a bit, "...I don't care what he says..." He's more talking to himself, then Valin, still leaning heavily on the other boy.
Valin sighs, closing his eyes and still hugging Ozzie close to him. "...what did he say?"
Ozzie bites his lip, "...lots of things...like how there must be something wrong with me..."
"You're perfect the way you are."
Ozzie smiles a bit, blushing slightly, "..thanks Valin..."
Valin smiles, "No problem, kid," he kisses Ozzie on the head.
Ozzie snuggles up to Valin a bit, feeling rather content, safe, and warm.
Valin looks down at Ozzie, sighing. A few of the students are staring now. Davis glares.
Ozzie pretty much ignores everyone else, glancing up at Valin.
Valin sends a few of the students a glare, close to hissing....
Ozzie blinks, looking at the others, then back at Valin, "..just ignore them."
Valin hrms, "Keep your eyes to yourself or I'll rip 'em out," he snaps quickly, which causes most of the students to look away... He hugs Ozzie.
Ozzie blinks once again, giving a slightly defeated sigh and leaning back on Valin, "..or you could just do that..."
