| † Dreams † |
Sitting up with a start, Remus glanced about, his eyes wide open. Nothing. He hadn't heard anything...nothing real, at least. Or nothing to be worried about. The boy slipped from his bed, tip-toeing across the room to Sirius' sleeping form.
"..Sirius...?" He murmured. Only quiet, gentle breaths.
"..Oi. Sirius?" Still silence.
Remus tilted his head, studying the other boy's slumbering face. Smooth and charming, he could easily see it despite the lack of light. A year... a whole year he had been pining away at that magnificent creature whom he called his friend. His first friend, in fact. It seemed like ages ago the two had met, but it hadn't been long at all. Two years they'd known each other, and those had been the most wonderful times of Remus' life.
Gently reaching out, he placed a hand on the other boy's cheek, smiling faintly.
"I guess you'll never know, eh? How much I like you...just because I'm too scared to say anything at all. You seem content where you are, at least. And I have more than I've ever had." He paused, hesitating, "I lo-" His sentence was cut short as his hand was snatched by Sirius himself. Remus shut his eyes.
Silence.
Gingerly opening one eye, he noticed...well, he noticed that Sirius was still asleep, though he held to his hand. Breathing a sigh of relief, he gently pried his affection's fingers from about his own.
"I love you, Sirius Black. Don't you ever find out."
Slowly he moved back to his bed, hopped in, pulled the sheets up about him, and shut his eyes, his heart still thumping a bit.
After a long while, Sirius opened an eye, grinning, whispering so quietly that not even the werewolf could hear him.
"I love you too, Moony."
