Amber Trump Deck Logs RL Pictures Main Trump call...
You stare at the image of Stone...
You have established contact with Stone.
The image of Stone is seated in the 11th House at a table near the fireplace. He glances up, "Heya." he greets.
To the image of Stone, Yosannah seems weary as her image comes into focus. She forces a smile, "Hey. You mind some company for a bit."
The image of Stone offers to pull her through.
Restaurant - The Eleventh House (Amber)...
Stone asks, as he releases your hand, "How goes?"
Yosannah nods, silent. She gestures at an empty chair at his table, "Mind?"
Stone takes a seat again and gestures, "Feel free."
Yosannah pulls out the chair and seats herself. She looks about the room, "A new haunt for you? I don't think I've been here in a long while."
Stone nods, "Getting out more. WEB's always empty whenever I go there these days."
Yosannah chuckles once. A single exhileration of breath and a nod, "Yeah." And then, "Listen I actually had a purpose for wanting to talk with you. It's about Damen."
Stone says "Is it good about Damen or typical about Damen?"
Yosannah rests an elbow on the top of the table and rubs at her temples, "I wish I could say that it was typical Damen. At least, it's not the typical I'm usedto. It's far worse. And..." She swallows, "It's apt to cause some awkwardness in the Club. Maybe for you. So I wanted to throw my situation out to you and let you make any calls you think might be appropriate."
Stone nods, frowning slightly, "Go on."
Yosannah's intones, softly. "He accosted me the other night. In his apartment." Something in her expression suggests she is ashamed to speak on the issue, "I um." A pause, "It was pretty bad, Stone. Really bad, in fact."
Stone frowns deeper. He finally asks, "You alright?"
Yosannah's gaze lingers on the fireplace. She bites at her lip as she nods slightly. The gesture is so minute that one might think she is not completely honest with the answer. "Physically. I tend to heal pretty good, so." She shrugs her shoulders, "Though, Despil helped. Otherwise, I don't know."
Stone asks, "What's Despil going to do?"
Yosannah sits back in her chair, crosses her arms over her chest and reaches a hand to her mouth. She tugs at her lower lip with her fingers, "He mentioned something about tendering his resignation. About dealing with the situation."
Stone nods, "He doesn't need to. Personal feelings aside, Club bylaws are pretty clear. You're a member. Damen's a member. No violence between members." He then asks, "You're a member, right?"
Yosannah nods, slowly, "Right."
Stone gestures, "Which means Damen broke the rules." He then asks, "Is there a 'why' attached to this? Or should I ask him?"
Yosannah offers, hushed, but matter of factly, "Merlin."
Stone squints, "What about Merlin?" he finally asks.
Yosannah is reluctant to elaborate at first. She mutters under her breath, "...this is so ridiculous." Shaking her head she summarizes, "I started seeming him again. Damen and I were too much. Damen found out."
Stone sighs, "I figured as much." He shakes his head, "Doesn't matter really."
Yosannah nods, "It shouldn't matter. Listen, for the record," her tone is mildly defensive, "Damen and I haven't been official in almost a year. You know what I've been dealing with. And it's not like Merlin and I are all that official either..." She pauses as if in realization that the point is, in fact, tangential.
Stone holds up both hands, "Hey your personal life is your own business. Serpent knows I'm little better, really."
Yosannah directs her gaze to his now. For the first time in their conversation a smile escapes the corner of her lips. "What happens now."
Stone says "What do you want to happen? As the aggrieved party, you can ask for Damen's balls hanging from your rearview mirror and I'd happily sign off on Despil retrieving them."
Yosannah exhales audibly. A deep sigh as her eyes close and she turns her head away, "That shouldn't be my call alone to make, should it."
Stone shrugs, "Why not? I mean, if you don't want to, that's fine too. But I'd probably want to talk to him first if I was to make any judgements."
Yosannah seems to consider for a long moment before responding, "Something more diplomatic then. If not your decision, then our peers should have something to say on the matter." She traces a finger along the edges of the table, "It's not my way style to be, or want to be, the deciding factor when it relates to another person's fate." She forces a smile as her gaze follows the trace of her finger, "I'm a lawyer, Stone. Not a judge."
Stone smirks and then asks, "You sure you want others involved?"
Yosannah shakes her head, "No. But it's the practical thing to do. The just thing. I suppose he has a right to voice his perspective. What do you think?"
Stone gestures, "Sounds fair at least." he says, agreeably.
Yosannah nods. She scrapes at the table with her fingernail now, "I'm sorry. By the way. On a personal level, I didn't want this."
Stone shrugs, "Not your fault. Damen's a big boy. He can take blame where blame is due just like the rest of us." He grins slightly, "Except for me. I was never very good at that."
Yosannah nods with a soft smile, "Yeah. You know. I adored him. Under different circumstances..." She shrugs.
Stone shrugs back, "Under different circumstances he wouldn't be him and you wouldn't be you and I wouldn't be me. Want me to send out word to the members, then?"
Yosannah nods, "Yeah. Are you going to talk to him first?"
Stone says "Want me to?"
Yosannah rubs at her eye, weary, "It makes little difference to me." She fishes a hand around in her pocket, withdrawing a mish-mash of tarots.
Stone nods, "Fair enough." he replies.
Yosannah settles on a card and tucks the others away. She gazes at it for a moment then looks beyond it to you, "Lemme ask you something."
Stone gestures, "Ask freely."
Yosannah nods and asks, "You and I?" She doesn't elaborate, as if this should stand on it's own and suffice.
Stone leans back, "March to the beat of a different drum." he finishes. He then smiles, adding, "Are far better friends than anything else. I'm too much of a jerk to my partners."
Yosannah nods, seemingly satisfied with the response, "I wonder sometimes. If these things are my fault." She shrugs, "I know they're not. It's just good to hear you say it." She smiles, "Let me know how things go, if you don't mind. And I'll catch up with you soon then."
Stone smiles back, "Will do. Be well." he adds.
Despil's Chambers - Sawall...
Yosannah's fingers linger twined among Despil's as they arrive. A gesture that has probably become familiar, "Thank you for giving me a lift from Niemand's. I wanted to speak with you about something before you return, if you don't mind."
Despil squeezes Yo's hand and says, "Not at all. I've worried a bit."
She lowers her gaze, "You worry quite a bit, Despil. That's part of your charm." A light smile, and then, "Stone circulated some correspondence to me. I'm guessing you received it as well."
Despil says, "About one member doing bad things to another?"
Yosannah nods as she studies his expression, "I told him about what happened. I thought he should know. He said the consequences as against Damen were mine to choose. I just..." She bites at her lower lip, "I didn't think it should be my decision alone. It's probably the lawyer in me I suppose."
Despil nods and watches her. "Go on."
"He's going to table the issue to all the Members. Give Damen an opportunity to offer up a defense. I supose I'm curious as to what your response will be."
Despil replies, "I'd have to hear his defense, first."
Yosannah nods as if she half expected this to be his answer, "I don't know that he'll have much of one, though I think he deserves the opportunity. You should know, that no matter what you decide or what you offer up as a suggestion, your oppinion is certain to be taken as biased."
Despil asks, "What does that mean?"
"It means that I think I know what your thoughts will be. It means that if you share them, as I think you will, you may be accused of being prejudiced." She exhales slowly, "In favor of your brother."
Despil says with a bit of sarcasm, "Oh, was he bashed over the head, too?"
"No. Because the reason /I/ was bashed over the head was because of your brother. And because just prior to being thown into the wall by Damen, he referred to Merlin as the 'bastard son of amber and of chaos' and swore to eliminate him."
Despil says "This is all news to me."
"That is why I am telling you."
Despil says "Why did he throw you into a wall?"
Yosannah offers as she shakes her head, "Jealousy?"
Despil grins. "I'll have to remember that. When a woman I want is interested in some other guy -- why, I'll toss her into a wall and crack her skull. That will do it!"
Yosannah smiles softly in response though there is a certain amount of sadness behind the gesture, "I tell you these things because I worry too. I don't want you to be put into a situation where you are being questioned about your loyalties."
Despil says "Where -should- my loyalties lie?"
Yosannah offers an immediate response, "With the truth. Just be prepared for the aftermath. The consequences in sticking to your resolve." She smiles then, pensive, "Though, somehow, I suspect I am not telling you anything you don't already know. You have more wisdom then most."
Despil hmms and asks, "What consequences might there be? Might people think that I get along with Merle and that's a bad thing?"
Yosannah considers, "I don't know. The only thing I am certain of is that Damen is not well. He might turn your ties with your family against you. He might retaliate. I'd like to believe this wouldn't be the case, but I never thought he'd ever harm me in anger either. Me, who very much loves him despite everything that has passed these last few years."
Despil eyes Yo and then asks, "How could he turn them against me?"
"That you might decide against him in light of the threats he made against your brother..." she shrugs her shoulders, "I just don't know."
Despil says "I think I might decide against him based upon the fact that he bashed your head in and I think that's no way to treat a lady. Unless you're thinking that I think it's all right to bash ladies' skulls in, but not to threaten my brother. Who, incidentally, is a son of Amber and Chaos, and arguably is a bastard, but arguably is not."
Yosannah smiles appreciatively, "I know that. You know that." Her hand still lingers in his. She slides it from him now and notes, "You should get back to your friends. They'll wonder where you've been."
Despil lets go of Yo's hand. "Very well. Do you have everything you need?"
Yosannah shakes her head, thankful for their conversation it would seem, "I am fine, Despil. I'll catch up with you soon I'm sure." She smiles then and shoves at his arm playfully, "Now go."
