Amber Trump Deck Logs RL Pictures Main Gideon Club - Study...
Yosannah spins in her stool and rests her elbows behind her and on the bartop, "How did Riva get involved in this situation in the first place? I'm more worried now then I was when we didn't know anything." She smiles lightly.
Stone says "I asked her to look into it for me. Then she got all wierd about the people here. I didn't know she was so tight with the Sun."
Yosannah looks back to the paper and flips to the funny pages, "She's got something against your /assistant/." A light chuckle, "Lila. They don't mesh well. I wonder if they combined information they might actually get somewhere."
Ryker remarks with just minimal disdain, "That's giving Riva a lot of credit, don't you think."
Yosannah slides her gaze to Ryker and studies him for a long moment, green gaze squinting lightly.
Stone glances at Ryker's appearance and then says, "Hey, Riva's a professional."
Ryker brushes a bit of dust off his pants, then lowers himself into the easy chair. Casual, though there is a constant little knot between his brows. "Meaning, she has a lot of practice at doing a particular thing. She can aim a gun well, I'll grant her that, but I don't consider it much." A bit of a shrug, and he adds, "But perhaps that's just old biases dying hard."
Stone nods, "Old biases die harder than old Amberites sometimes."
Yosannah spins again in the stool. She crosses her arms over her chest and leans her back against the bar, "Where ya been, Ryker. You doing all right?"
Ryker just grunts at Yosannah, non-committal. Stretching his neck a little, he retorts to Stone, "It's tough to find Amberites worth killing anymore. They're all so reclusive now. It hardly seems fair to hold grudges against people who barely come out of their lone city, or whatever hole they wile away the years in."
Yosannah regards the man a moment longer before losing interst. She turns her back on him and the room and returns her attention to the daily crossword.
Stone says "That's why you need to prod them every once in a while to move. So you been up to no good lately, I hope?"
Ryker hehs and Stone, remarking vaguely, "I'll keep that mind." He picks the following moment to offer at Yosannah, eyes slightly squint, "And how is old Pestilence? Happy to be back in home sweet home?"
Yosannah offers as she writes something in the small boxes before her, "You should know..." And then, "I need a ten letter word for restraint."
Ryker mms, a little hint of a growl. He states, "No I shouldn't." He offers, a little reluctantly, jaw-working, "Inhibition."
Stone suggests, "Gideon Club. But spell it with no spaces."
Stone says to Ryker, "I'm not very good at puzzles."
Yosannah seems to try them both. She shakes her head after a moment, "No good."
Ryker's knot lifts just a little at 'about that later', but he doesn't debate it. "I prefer real world puzzles. Like how to threaten without drawing a weapon, or how to keep someone from attacking without resorting to pulling their heart out - wherever they may keep it."
Yosannah sets the pen down, deliberately, and asks of Ryker, "Are you getting at something?"
Stone looks back and forth at the two.
Ryker takes a deeper breath ... few seconds ... then he shakes his head. "I wasn't, actually. It was simple statement about only myself. I had no idea who the fight had involved at all ... " a neutral glance at Stone. "Until now, that is."
Yosannah nods, slowly, as she listens to him, "You really don't know anything, Ryker. Not yet. I have no doubt, though, that you'll temper your personal feelings when hearing everyone out..." She snaps her fingers abruptly and turns back to the paper, "Temperance. So easy..." She scribbles.
Stone asks, curiously, "Ryker has personal feelings?"
Yosannah mutters lightly, "... hmm. I think I may have actually seen them. Imagine that..." More scribbling.
Ryker mms in reply to Yosannah, merely promising, "We'll see." To Stone, he explains with a wave of his hand, "Since I barely harbor professional feelings anymore, all I have left are the personal ones."
Yosannah gives Stone a sidelong glance and shrugs her shoulders. She rolls the pen in and out of her fingers.
Despil and Elektra arrive from the hallway. Yosannah is seated at the bar, hovering over a newspaper with pen in hand. She seems to be working on a crossword puzzle. Stone stands beside her, nursing a diet coket. Ryker is seated in a recliner opposite them.
Ryker's attention gets a bit distance, but he still spares the attention to prompt, "Feel free to continue about Riva, as you originally were."
Yosannah shrugs, "I'm tired of that topic, quite frankly..." She notes the arrival of the others with a pursed smile and a nod.
Stone glances as the two enter, giving a wave, "Hey there." He sits up slightly, adding to Elektra, "Haven't seen you in a coon's age."
Despil says, "Cheers, all." He goes to the bar.
Ryker seems fine either way, regarding Riva. He mentions next, "I wonder if Osric, for supposedly being ancient, is useful for anything..." A glance towards Despil and Elektra as they're greeted by the others. He nods a greet, a touch friendly. "Elektra. Despil."
Elektra smiles and walks over to Stone, even graces him with a kiss on the cheak, "Too long. But I'm back and slowly catching up on things" she gives Yossanah a smile and nod then turns to Ryker "Greeting Stranger." she smiles.
Ryker admits, "I try to be, but usually fail on a long enough timeline."
Stone smiles at the kiss and then says to Ryker, "I heard he was back in town, yeah."
Despil takes a seat at the bar and orders his usual.
Yosannah rests an elbow atop the bar and her fist against her temple as she scribbles. Her mood is one of disinterest.
Ryker says "I see him in the World's End now and again, but I've yet to observe any personality or motive of note."
Yosannah offers, blandly, "Not too unlike you, eh, Ryker."
Ryker grunts, hazarding a small, crooked smile. "Nice. But only if he has them and merely declined to wear them in his sleeve, like many."
Despil gets his drink. "What's your calendar like, Stone?"
Yosannah mutters, perhaps in response to Ryker, but perhaps not, "Touche." A chuckle passes her lips.
Elektra breezes over toward Yo and takes a short glance over her shoulder, "Anything good in the papers lately?" she smiles as she takes a seat herself.
Yosannah taps at the crossword, "I'm looking for... author of Who goes there?"
Stone looks at Despil, "Busy at the moment unless you were in the mood to drag me off." he says, gesturing around, "But I'd like to chat with you soon."
Despil says "I don't want to drag you away from this sterling conversation. You are, however, right. We need to chat."
Elektra looks over at Stone "Better make space for two in your book, Stone. Seems we have abit of catching up to do." she adds when Despil finishes. She shakes her head "I haven't a clue Yo. Sorry."
Despil says "Campbell?"
Yosannah looks between Stone and Despil, gaze settling on Despil as he offers up his suggestion. She begins to count squares, "Hu. Not bad, Des. Thanks." She writes as she says out loud, "See, Aye, Em, Bee..."
Despil says "Pee, Bee, Ee, Ell, Ell."
Yosannah mutters, "right right.."
Ryker just shakes his head, attention wandering.
Stone stands now, finishing his drink and setting the empty can on the counter. "You have a Trump of me yet?" he asks Despil.
Despil shakes his head. "I don't."
Yosannah reaches into her jacket pocket, "I got an extra. You want it? I have to warn you though, they're about as valuable as your average Pokemon card..."
Despil says "Then I won't try to trade it away for one of Oberon."
Yosannah fishes through her cards for a moment which are in complete disaray and hands one over to Despil. "Enjoy."
Stone tells Yosannah, "Hey, better a decent common than one of those uncommons that are pointless."
Yosannah shrugs and sets the pen atop the completed crossword puzzle and climbs off the stool. She makes her way toward the recliner next to Ryker and drops herself into it.
Ryker whispers to Yosannah, "So, is Despil leasing space to a Horseman too, or did he escape scot free?"
Elektra watches the group for a minute but keeps her seat at the bar.
Elektra sits down at The bar.
Yosannah offers a brief comment to Ryker.
Yosannah whisper to Ryker, "You should be able to tell, Ryker." She regards him cooly, "You haven't explored your new found talents, have you." It's not a question. "I wouldn't peg you for being the kind of guy that'd be scared of such a thing."
Elektra smiles at Stone "Oh, by the way, I had the pleasure of meeting your personal assistant, Lila. She seems like a sweet girl. She invited me to stay here at the Club even."
Yosannah raises a brow at the mention of Lila extending invitations. She shakes her head lightly.
Stone grins as he heads for the door, "She is. You're welcome here as a guest, of course." he affirms.
Ryker bahs at Yosannah, leaning away.
Elektra nods with a smile "Thanks." her voice is cheerful today.
Stone then gives a wave to all present, "Be seeing y'all." he says.
Yosannah rests her head against the back of the recliner, a smile playing on her lips. She rolls her head along the chair and regards Stone as he leaves. She offers him a wave.
Despil waves. "See you." He gives a Prisoner salute to Stone.
Elektra waves "Serpent's Blessing." she chimes.
Yosannah's gaze glosses over Despil and Elektra but settles on Ryker. The intones something softly to him.
"I can help you, if you'd like."
Ryker just grunts at Stone, turning his attention back to Yosannah, leaning again.
"It's not a matter of being scared. It's a matter of prudence and interest. Similar to the reasons I don't do jumping on some fool Broken Pattern, just because I have opportunity. My common sense and prudence outweighs my interest in whatever either may have to offer."
"Fair enough, Ryker."
Ryker nods faintly.
"Just know, the creature will take you. When you are not expecting it. Particularly if you don't come to some semblance of understanding with it. And so long as it remains within you." She shrugs.
Ryker frowns, then.
Elektra turns her gaze to Yo, "Yo, have you heard anything new about the Academy? I've spent the day pouring through some of the old books at the Church's library looking for anything that might give a hint."
Ryker sends a slightly interested look in Elektra's direction.
Yosannah turns her attention to Elektra, "I'm sorry, what?"
Elektra smiles "I can come back later if you're occupied. I was just curious."
Yosannah shakes her head and offers the woman a smile. Her graze trickles to Despil as she asks, "I'm sorry, I was just distracted. The Academy? I haven't been back since the rash of incidences, Lady. Quite frankly, I would prefer to avoid the place all together."
Ryker prompts, "For the sake of the unpsychic, which of the infinite 'Academys' in Shadow are we refering to?"
Yosannah offers flatly, "In Kryonia."
Ryker ahs. "That one."
Elektra nods in understanding, "Quite alright, and please, Lady sounds so...formal. Lek will do." she smiles at Ryker despite his frown, "You know, if you smiled once in a while I'd have to check to see if I was halucinating." she teases him in a friendly manner. "How have you been Ryker?"
Yosannah is unable to supress a light smirk. She lifts her a fisted hand to rest above her lip, elbow propped comfortably on the arm of the recliner.
Lisle moves toward you, growing more defined as she approaches. She appears, disheveled and tired, an elbow patch torn, riding crop held defensively in one hand. Long hair is unbound, wild with outdoors.
Ryker grunts deeply, jaw working. "I've been remiss with my investments, obviously." More casual. "I own that particular Academy, you know. Who is running it at that moment, anyway?" His half-squint turns to Lisle, focusing, appraising.
Yosannah answers, "Darcy..." Her voice trails off as Lisle arrives. She smiles at the woman.
Ryker huhs. "Still, hmm? I'd have thought someone would replace her long ago."
Yosannah nods, and mutters lightly, "I think Damen had intentions at one point." She shrugs.
Ryker says, "I did my best to encourage, but you can't force him to drink."
Yosannah chuckles, a single exhileration of breath. Saracastic. "No. You can't."
Lisle looks at the others suspciously for a brief moment. Then her arm lowers, tail of the crop dragging along the floor. Back straighter, a hand brushes tangled hair from her eyes, curling around her ear. All poise, she replies, "Your Highness," to Despil. Ryker and Yosannah get a smile.
Ryker gives Lisle a subtle little nod.
Despil replies, "We're off duty, here. I'll use titles in Amber, and you can too."
Lisle asks Yosannah, "Is there a ladies room around here?"
Yosannah nods at Lisle, "Back into the hallway. Door to the right of the Kitchen."
Lisle inclines her head graciously to everyone, making her way out.
Elektra notes the arrival with a smile but replies to Ryker, "It's been along time since I've been in that part of shadow. I actually didn't know. You had a tavern there too didn't you?"
Ryker wipes at his face. Tongue pokes his cheek. "One of the best in Shadow, at one point. It went the way of the dragons, alas."
Elektra nods "Sorry to hear."
Ryker shrugs. Neutral, "Nothing lasts forever."
Lisle returns, not too much later, refreshed. Her hair is brushed, clothing less blousy. The riding crop sticks up out of her back pocket, making the tails of her coat part. She has a hot cup of something. Whatever it is, it steams.
Yosannah's gaze slides to Ryker and his comment before turning toward the windows and the vast expanse of property outside the Club.
Lisle says, "Some things -seem- to last forever."
Despil says "Like paper cuts."
Ryker mentions to Lisle, "I've witnessed a lot of reasons to pop in the Club, but never to use the bathrooms."
Lisle half sits on the arm of Ryker's recliner, looking down at him with a twinkle in her eyes. "Well, I didn't pop into the club for the bathrooms. I was, well, trying to avoid something, and I knew I was close to here." She smiles at Despil, at his remark.
Ryker's hands find his lap, lacing. Keen gaze on Lisle. "Convenient. A shame, you just missed Stone by minutes."
Lisle says, "I'm sorry I missed him. I'm terribly fond of him, and in fact, came to speak to him, as you probably guessed. Where else look for Stone when he's not answering the cards? Anyway, I am glad to see you, too, Ryker. I've been meaning to find you." Her dimples show in her smile.
Yosannah begins to rise from the recliner. She raises her arms over her head and stretches.
Lisle lifts blue eyes to Yo, smile as fond.
Ryker is only slightly moved, shifting a little in his chair. Little hint of a curl at one corner of his generous lips. "Stone is an easy guess. Myself? ... well, you don't have a sword in hand, so I hardly see reason to seek me out."
Yosannah inhales and then exhales as she scratches at her neckline, "If you'll all excuse me."
Ryker murmurs, "Excused."
Elektra smiles at Yosannah, "All is well I hope Yo?"
Yosannah offers the woman a reassuring nod, "Fine. Thank you. I'm just a bit restless. Take care everyone."
Despil waves. "Goodnight, Yo."
Elektra nods "Serpent Guide. We should get together for a drink or two again."
Yosannah tucks her hands into the pockets of her suede jacket. She strolls out into the hallway, quietely.
