Amber Trump Deck Logs RL Pictures Main The Worlds' End Bar...
Crimson is sitting with Sarah. He sits casually reclined while smoking.
Crimson glances to Yosannah and nods before looking back to Sarah to say something.Sarah flicks a cigarette alight. It smells richly of marijuana, sweet and cloying.
Yosannah moves forward into view under the balcony. She notes Crimson with a similar nod, arms crossed over her chest, before moving to the far end of the bar.
Sarah glances at Yosannah, holding her breath.
Sarah exhales.
Yosannah makes no obvious glance in Sarah's direction, intent as she is on the bar. Once there she gestures for the bartender.
Dai appears under the balcony and slips his trump into his pocket. He takes a look around the bar.
Yosannah is served a glass of wine. She lifts it in Dai's direction, offering a greeting of sorts and inclining her chin to a nearby empty stool.
Dai nods to Sarah and Crimson and then grins when he sees Yosannah. He heads over to the indicated stool and hops onto it.
At the bar, Yosannah gets right to the point, glass held half way between the bartop and her lips, "You are obviously keen on the issue of Loki." Whether this is a statement or a question is debatable.
At the bar, Dai very carefully does not look at Yosannah. He motions the bartender over. "That depends on what you mean Yo. Please be a little more......clear."
At the bar, Yosannah says "Regarding your father." She sips, followed by, "You know what I mean."
Crimson orders a dark ale. The bartender hands it to a server who takes it to small table in the center and sets it before it.
Yosannah's gaze slides to the table at the center of the room, almond green eyes flickering over Crimson for a moment.
Dai orders a bottle of Rathorne silver. The bartender pushes it across the bar and it slides to a stop in front of him.
At the bar, Dai says "Yes. I do know what you mean. Not quite sure how I feel about that as of yet. How do you know?"
At the bar, Yosannah exhales and returns her glass to the bartop. "Admittedly, I made psychic contact with Loki unbeknownst to him and happened to run across Brandon's psyche in the process." She purses her lips and adds, as if this is important to her, "And that's not something I run around doing on a regular basis. Just for your information."
At the bar, Dai opens the bottle and sips. He murmurs, "Glad to hear that. You probably wouldn't like what's inside my head anyway, so I have no worries of you doing that to me if you were trying to ease me in that regard. How do you feel about it?"
At the bar, Yosannah says "Feel about what? Finding Brandon's psyche in Loki?"
Dai glances up at the whistling figure of Alastor, raises his bottle to him in greeting and nods. His face expressionless he turns back to his companion.
At the bar, Dai says "Yes. That. And what do you make of it?"
Athais glances around cautiously as she puts her Trump away.
Alastor puts his hand out to the air.
At the bar, Yosannah says "It's definitely Brandon's memories. Ending somewhere around the time he walked the logrus." She raps a finger nail along the rim of her wine glass, "Riva was very resistant to the notion when we discussed it. Rather in denial." She mutters, "Can't say that I blame her.""
Yosannah notes Athais' arrival.
Bridget appears, grasping Alastor's hand.
At the bar, Dai hmmms. "Have you thought about speaking with Loki directly on this matter?"
At the bar, Yosannah says "I did. For a few short moments. She brought him to the Gideon Club. He wasn't himself, actually. Insisted that he is now Brandon." She shrugs, "I don't know the truth of the matter as I didn't make mental contact with him to figure it out."
Alastor pulls Bridget through the Trump, and pushes a seat out for her.
At the bar, Dai frowns. "What exactly did he say Yosannah? Word for word." He takes a rather large swig from the bottle.
At the bar, Yosannah chuckles, "Oh dear god, I can't remember that. Lemme think on it for a moment." She bites at her lip and becomes rather pensive.
Athais looks from one couple to the next, thoughtfully. Then she heads for the bar, pushing her hair back from her face.
Crimson sits idly with Sarah. Slightly slouched with an ale in one hand and a smoldering cigarette in the other.
Yosannah lifts her chin in Athais' direction so that Dai might note the woman's arrival at the bar. Yosannah's attention goes to her drink and she is quiet.
Athais sits well apart, giving Yosannah and Dai their privacy. She orders a cup of jasmine tea, quietly.
Yosannah mutters something quietly and under her breath to Dai."Maybe we should save this for a less public setting." to Dai.
Dai nods at what Yosannah says and mutters "That's fine. I need to know what he told you though. Also, there was a matter I wished to discuss with you about that strange explosion at the AoM some time back."
Alastor sends down an order for a 'starlight and moonbeams' and one for 'something with too much rum for my own good'. Two drinks are delivered in swift time.
At the bar, Yosannah hrrrms and says loudly enough for anyone at the bar to hear, "Oh, that." She is obviously directing this at Dai.
At the bar, Athais glances down along the bar briefly at the sound of Yosannah's raised voice.
At the bar, Dai says "Yes that. Loki knows unless I miss my guess. Flat out lied to me about it as well if my guess is right. Wouldn't tell me who was involved or why."
At the bar, Yosannah says "How'd you figure out I had anything to do with it?"
At the bar, Dai gives Yo a flat look. "Bite your tongue."
At the bar, Dai says "I am who I am Yosannah."
At the bar, Yosannah chuckles, "Oh, now you're Dai, spy-extraordinaire? Forgive me." She sips her wine, coy and crooked smirk playing on her lips.
At the bar, Dai grins. "Always was my dear." He winks. "You tell me what is going on, and I'll tell you how I found out. Deal?"
Athais lifts her tea-cup carefully and cradles it between her hands as she listens to the conversation down the bar.
At the bar, Yosannah offers, simply, as if it were no big deal, "Experimenting. With the Princess Lisle." She leans in and adds, "And it wasn't really an explosion, if you must know. The bar may be gone, but I keep reminding that twit of a headmaster that we'll get the darn thing back. The Princess is one of the best Pattern adepts I have ever known. If she can't find the thing, nobody can." She nods in affirmation.
At the bar, Dai grins. "Stop throwing me for a loop Yo. That's not the answer to my question."
At the bar, Yosannah says "What's going on is that we're experimenting. I told you that already."
At the bar, Yosannah mutters behind her wine glass, "They never listen." She sips.
At the bar, Athais smiles into her tea-cup at Yosannah's comment.
At the bar, Dai pulls a pack of du Maurier cigarettes out of his pocket and lights one. "Half an answer to my question. And if that is all you are willing to give me, then I am afraid I can only give you half an answer in return."
At the bar, Yosannah says "I didn't say I wouldn't offer more. But you're not letting me tell my story. It's not much of a story if I leave out the important parts or fail to correct and explain misnomers like your use of the word," she makes finger quotes, "explosion."
At the bar, Dai rolls his eyes. "My apologies. Please, continue with the story."
At the bar, Yosannah says "So..." she continues, "we've been experimenting." She lowers her voice, eyes glint coyly and mischievously, "Crossing major powers by way of conjuration." She nods, serious like, "Who knew it would cause such a disturbance. Hence, your so called explosion. Which really was just some sort of combination trump-pattern warp as far as I can gather."
At the bar, Dai hmmms and thinks. "And what exactly are you conjuring? And what would it take to get one of these conjured items."
At the bar, Yosannah raises a brow, "Get? Dai, these aren't the sorts of things you hand out like everlasting gobstoppers to eager children." She shakes her head and fondles the trinket at her wrist.
At the bar, Athais leans her head to the side and listens curiously.
At the bar, Dai says "Never said it was. And do I strike you as an eager child Yosannah?"
At the bar, Yosannah avoids the question, "The point is, we won't be handing any such items out. That's dangerous and irresponsible."
At the bar, Dai says "Then why are you making them?"
At the bar, Athais considers Yosannah's bracelet.
At the bar, Yosannah exhales, "Well..." She considers this question for a rather lengthy moment. Certainly, she isn't avoiding the issue though she obviously isn't sure how to answre his question. Her gaze falls to her wrist again and her expression surrenders. Failing, it seems to come up with a suitable reply. Instead, she changes the topic, "You're turn. Don't tell me I haven't given you enough that it's not your turn to anti up."
At the bar, Athais seems to be enjoying the overheard conversation.
At the bar, Dai says "Okay. The person who told me you were involved is in this bar right now."
Yosannah turns her head over her shoulder and looks about the barroom.
At the bar, Yosannah says "Who?"
At the bar, Dai looks around, conspiratorally and stage whispers, "She's sitting at this very bar and is incredibly beautiful. Rumour has it, she has walnut brown hair and is can use a bow and arrows."
At the bar, Athais rolls her eyes and turns back to her tea.
From afar, Dai grins. He never once said anything about Yo being involved. Yo said that.
At the bar, Yosannah peers down the length of the bar and regards Athais. A tiny knot forms above her nose and at her brow line.
At the bar, Athais shrugs to Yosannah, glances at Dai, then sips tea.
At the bar, Yosannah smiles at the woman and quickly returns her attention to Dai. She points at the woman and asks, Dai, "Her?"
At the bar, Dai laughs. "No. I'm teasing you."
At the bar, Yosannah says "Oh." She looks to the girl, shrugs and then turns back to Dai, "Come on, quit it."
At the bar, Dai says "Okay. The person who did tell me is sitting at this bar, and it is not that lady over there. And I obviously didn't tell myself."
At the bar, Athais says, pleasantly enough, "No, I don't know anything. He's right."
At the bar, Yosannah's eyes roll upward and she notes, "Dai, I didn't tell you anything about the so called explosion. How did you hear about that?"
At the bar, Dai says "That wasn't the question. Your question was how did I find out you were involved. How did I find out about the explosion? Why, from people who attend classes there of course. Couldn't give you a name off the top of my head as I learned of it a long time ago."
At the bar, Athais says "You can take classes in explosions?"
At the bar, Dai says wryly, "Remind me to introduce you to the engineer that works for my sister's company. Wanted to turn me into a walking bomb at one point."
At the bar, Athais looks fascinated, but keeps from interrupting again.
At the bar, Yosannah offers, sidelong to the girl at the other end of the bar, "There was /no/ explosion. And it wasn't during classes anyway." The issues of explosions seems to be a bone of contention for Yosannah.
At the bar, Athais says "Oh, um, a Trump and Pattern warp. Sorry."
At the bar, Yosannah nods, seemingly satisfied, "Right. In any event, I have to be taking off."
At the bar, Dai pouts. "Oh. Okay Yosannah. We do need to talk again very soon."
At the bar, Athais nods.
At the bar, Yosannah gulps at the last swallow of her wine. She offers Dai a smile, "Of course." To the woman at the end of the bar she offers, "Good night, lady."
