Amber Trump Deck Logs RL Pictures Main Gideon Club - Study...
Yosannah meanders slowly down the stairwell, she has a news paper spread between her hands. As she nears the landing she peers over the paper, noting the woman, "Riva?"
Riva looks up and smiles, "Yosannah, hey. Was hoping to catch you. You got a minute?"
Yosannah nears the bar and folds up the print, "Sure. What's going on?" She sets the paper atop the bar and leans casually against it.
Riva says "Spoke with Joshua the other evening. War Shot Sarah, and he made it clear he intends to destroy the nusance of the four. Nash already knows, but I thought I might give you heads up."
Yosannah amends, "You mean Ryker shot Sarah."
Riva shrugs, "I'm just tellign you what I was told. Joshua said War, not Ryker."
Yosannah inquires, "Did Joshua indicate how he knew the difference?"
Riva says "Didn't have a chance to ask and either way he's going to say whichever is convienant for him. This is just a reason to make his agenda with the four personal."
Yosannah nods, seemingly in agreement, "Don't suppose he said anything else. No matter how insignifican't, it might be important."
Riva says "We talked a little bit. He told me if I was protecting any of you now was the time to stop. Anyway, the main issue remains Ryker. I'd suggest staying out of the web, but I might as well ask people to don chicken suits."
Yosannah lets a smirk escape the corners of her lips, bro flitting once in amusement, "Joshua has yet to trouble me. Which tells me one of two things. Either he doesn't think me worth the time, or he's afraid. I'm banking on the latter inasmuch as he has admitted such to me." She shrugs her shoulders.
Riva says "Maybe he realizes War's the leader and means to start there. He's delcared his intentions, and even he is just talking shit there are others. It's worth considering options. Nash has a few ideas that are sound, but Ryker remains the issue. I'm just here to lend whatever I can. It'm waiting to see how the cards fall."
Yosannah raises a brow at the mention of War as leader though she does not comment on this. Rather, she listens and then inquires, "Waiting to see how the cards fall?" She smirks, "Is that so you can figure out which side you fall on, Riv?" She is obviously teasing.
Riva chuckles, "Yup. I'm, a merc. Bad biz to side with losers."
You say "Naturally." Her smile lingers a moment longer but fades as she continues, "So, Ryker is the issue. I suppose that depends on who you talk to. He's an issue for Sarah because she believes he needs freeing. He's an issue to Joshua because Joshua would stake claim to what Ryker has. He's an issue to me because ... well, that't not important. I suppose you're right. Ryker is the man of the hour." She smirks, "The bastard."
Riva sighs and mumbles, "Zach might be hunting him too. Joshua told me to keep him out of it, but I don't order him around and he loves his momma."
Yosannah hehs, "Since when does Joshua tell you what to do anyway? Joshua will realize soon enough that he doesn't call the shots."
Riva says "He doesn't, but he knows I don't want Zach in the mix anymore than he does. Especially if Zach and I wind up on opposit sides. Maybe he'll stay out of it."
Yosannah considers, "Zach. Zach." And then, "Do I know Zach?"
Riva chews on her bottom lip, "Maybe. He was there when Stone summoned Greenwitch, and he's been with em to the club once or twice. Since we've gotten married he tries to tag along make sure I don't get myself killed."
Riva says "Big black guy with bald head and tattos and green eyes. You'd rember him if you met him, I wager. Netzach is his full name"
Yosannah smiles and nods, "Ah, Netzach. Yes. He was at the hospital when I went to see you as well."
Riva nods, "Yeah. Sarah's his mother, so I'm not sure if he'll want to get Ryker or if he'll just stay aout of it. There's...other factors. Sarah might ask him to help." she frowns unhappily.
Yosannah exhales, "The plot thickens." She shakes her head, "Sarah is an important player here. Why. Why has she got herself mixed up with Spade in the first place."
Riva shrugs, "No clue. She lets him play, and she's pregnant with erotic city's child against the will of Calder whom she's sworn to. I know why she's after Ryker, and now why Joshua is, but until Ryker and War settle their differences I don't figure knowing any of that is going to do anyone any good."
Yosannah offers, absent mindedly, "From what I hear, her loyalty is given and sworn depending on her mood and whim." She shakes her head, "Which means that her word isn't worth much. As for Ryker," she works her jaw, "I have yet to discuss recent events with him. Nor his relationship with the creature he hosts. At least not in some weeks."
Riva says "Nash said Ryker's been ellusive lately. Maybe you can help. You have some idea what he's going through. Maybe your insight might help."
Yosannah gnaws at her lower lip and nods, quietly. And then, "We spoke on the matter a while back. I've learned to live a symbiotic life with the creature. Trying to control it consumed a great deal of my time. Years, in fact. I suspect Ryker struggles with the same issue. At least that was my read during our conversations."
Riva says "So I've heard from you and Nash, but according to Nash, War is the leader. Ryker's struggle is the hing everying swings on. If he doesn't sort it up he may do worse than shooing pregnant women, and the last thing the four need is more bad PR."
Yosannah chuckles at this. "Bad P.R. Yes, good point. Though, to be sure, War's status is leader has always seemed to me to be more along the lines of the figure-head, as it were. I don't think the others take orders from him, if you take my meaning."
Riva nods and notes, "Still, if his leadership role is played up, maybe he'll be more mindful of responsibilities and think maybe briefly how his actions effect the others."
Yosannah chuckles, "Mindful has never been War's forte. Death and Pestilence were always the thinkers, if you can call them such."
Riva says "I'm not suggesting he'll start spouting philosophy, Yosannah, but maybe he'll start playing the role more which is a step in the right direction."
Yosannah nods, "Perhaps." She considers, "I suspect that will depend on how much of Ryker's level-headedness manifests in the relationship. We can only hope. I suppose I should make it a point to try and counsel him as best I can."
Riva says "It seems like it's worth a shot, depending on what kind of relationship you've had in the past. If it weren't for him, there might be a chance of things blowing over. Anyway, Nash will find you soon and speak with you, I'm sure. Maybe he can be put at ease some. I'll stand by and wait to see if I'm needed."
Yosannah tugs at her lip with her teeth, "We have a decent enough relationship. As for Nash, yes. He's left some correspondence for me at Gideon. And I have questions of him that need answering." She collects up her newspaper, "In any event, thank you for the information on Joshua."
Riva says "Just trying to pay penance for being a pain in the ass." She grins, "You have my card, right?"
"We all have our moments." She nods, "I do. I'll be in touch when I have new information."
