Subject: Job Advice
Hello all,
I would like to know what anyone would advise me to do to gain a technical
(helpdesk) support or IT/network administration role? I would
like to take
MCSA or MCSE courses and I hear that there is Desktop Support certification
now as well. But do people recommend these and what examinations
do you
think I should take, how (online, course, study studies) and with who
(stick
to Gold Partners)?
I have been applying for such roles for many, many months and have
only had
two interviews for a tech support role. I do not have a degree
or any MS
certs. I have done hands-on tech support for a small computer
games
developer and feel my technical knowledge is fairly good. I have
PC build
experience, QA testing and have maintained the company network (be
it at a
very basic level for a basic network system) for about 2 years.
Also, I have been looking at the 'Business Analyst' roles recently
(as the
business side is another interest of mine), but only have an A-level
qualification in Business Studies (as well as a Computing A-level).
I would
like to know what you think I need to do (training, experience) to
gain such
a role?
Any help is much appreciated, so I hope you can help?
