If this is your first MS exam, don't worry. The format can take people
by
surprise if they are not used to test taking.
Another point, just because you work with W2K every day does not guarantee
that you are learning the official Microsoft objectives. The correct
study
method is hands on + book reading. That way you cover the concepts
that you
do not use on a daily basis, but are still tested.
As far as comfortability: relaxed clothes, no stressful events before
or
after the exam, good nights rest the night before, etc. etc. Bottom
line is
that you will have to find what works for you if you plan on beating
the
exams.
Good Luck

do the work hands on everyday with no problems but when I
get into the test enviroment I seem to loose it. Does
anyone have any suggestions on a way to take the test
comfortabley.

I took 70-219 this morning and passed with a score of 756, it took
and hour
and half, it was bad, I guess because I just took 217 and 218 in the
past
couple of weeks. It must of been an old test, they gave me a score.
The drag
and drop questions were pretty tough or confusing, but I muddled through
them. I guess know AD and how it relates to the Business Plans and
existing
vs. future IT infrastructure.
6 down one to go, I think I'll go with 70-221.

Subject: Re: MCSE and MCDBA certification - at the same time?
That will work. I'd say most people don't do it because:
1. They were MCSEs on NT and their old electives carry forward.
2. They don't work with SQL Server and want to specialize in something
else.
3. 221, 228, and 229 are difficult exams. Many would prefer an easier
path
to MCSE.

I've been trying to figure out why MCSE's don't take certain tests
and get
their MCDBA at the same time. I've gone through the lists of
cert tests,
and it seems to me that if you take a particular 7 MCSE tests, you'll
satsify everything for your MCDBA at the same time. Am I wrong
in this?
Here's the list I've compiled:

2 70-215 W2K Server
3 70-216 W2K Network Infrastructure
4 70-217 W2K Directory Services

the passing score is 66%
The questions are mostly Network, RIS and DHCP. Many questions are
the same as in 210.

Hi everyone,
My name is Andy. I am an IT instructor. Recently I have
created a series
of study guides for my students called Easyexams. The study guides
are
mostly the same materials I use in the classrooms and workshops.
During April 2002, I am making a number of study and review guides

to the public at no charge (i.e. free and no string attached).
Please
e-mail me with your request and I will send the material to you as
PDF v.5
attachments. Please also note that Yahoo or Hotmail often garbles
the PDF
attachments, so you should use other alternatives whenever you can.

More comming at a later date...
If the public interest warrants, I will spend more time converting

Please let me
know of your interest and I will make them available soon.

Subject: Re: online testing ?
All Microsoft tests are $125 to register. You pay regardless if you
pass or
fail.
Only Prometric and Vue are authorized testing centers. Cost is the
same
regardless of center used.
MCSA can be achieved by taking and passing 4 tests - minimum cost $500
MCSE requires minimum 7 exams - minimum cost $875
*Note - the above costs are for the tests only and do not cover preparation,
study materials, and possibly instructor led classes which can add
up to
thousands. And the minimum costs assume that you pass every exam the
first
time. Add $125 for every exam you fail.

First of all don't listen to those that will quickly criticize you
for
posting in the wrong newsgroup. As has been said before, any aspiring
MCSE
should not be opposed to a question or two regarding system problems.
Besides, I would hardly consider it off topic in comparison with some
of the
postings that have been put up recently.
Anyway, to get to your issue: about 6 months ago I had a similar problem
with a hd that "forgot" about another partition on the drive. Here
is my
multi-step process that restored my hd to normal operations. Please
note
that since I was in a panic I did not carefully document each step,
and my
memory is shadowy on the details of each step. As always, your mileage
may
vary:
1. Using a boot floppy, Tried fdisk /fixmbr and fdisk
/fixboot - no
success
2. Analyzed partition information using Partition
Magic 7.0 - PM showed
errors in the partition table, but was unable to fix them
3. Used Norton Utilites to analyze and successfully
repair partition
information.
4. Used fdisk /fixmbr to recreate a new mbr after
partition table was
reconstructed.
Norton was able to succeed where PM failed, but still needed to use
DOS
tools to complete the repair process.
Good Luck!

Hi everyone, my names is saleem sakakini, and i think i just made teh
biggest mistake in my life....
i need to know where the damn allocation table for the dynamic disk
are
stored....
my problem, i have a one physical drive, defined as a dynamic disk,
with 3
simple volumes, no mirror nor raid-5 or anything. anyways, due to a
problem
i faced with the OS i had to reinstall windows, so i did, and i deleted
the
boot partition only, and to find out affter installation that the other
two
partitions are gone as well, i understand that the allocation table
for the
dynamic disk has been ereased when i delete the boot partition (i found
that
out after deleting the partition) so is there any hope of ever reteriving
my
other 2 partitions....
Thanks in adavance for those who might be able to help me....
i really apriciate it...
best regards
