October 26

It's been an interesting week, and not so much interesting in a good way. It's about time something like this happened I guess, you can only live in utopia for so long right? This past week my computer lab at school got infected with a very nasty virus. It's a fabulously clever little trojan horse that viciously infects anything and everything that gets plugged into a usb port on the computer. And the best part, it's actually been on our system for well over a month, infecting everything from cellphones to PSP's to Ipods to flash drives and even my digital camera. The only reason I found it was because I brought my infected usb home and when I plugged it in my laptop my anti-virus caught it. Thank goodness for AVG! So pretty much every spare minute of my past week has been spent trying to do damage control and clean up all 36 computers in my room, plus all 20+ staff computers. Good times! I'm starting to get a handle on this bugger and I've made a lot of progress, plus I'm getting new computers in my room next week anyways, but the dark cloud that's looming over my head is the problem of cleaning every single usb device that's been used in our school for the past month! : P

On a totally different note, Clifford is slowly but surely turning into an overseas North Kildonan. It seems like this is the place to be for young Mennos now, so please don't any of you ever worry that I'm getting cut off from my roots by being here. Two years ago I was the only Mennonite, but this year I've been joined by a Quiring, Hildebrand, and a Loewen (who even went to MBCI and I know her brother!), not to mention a few other Menno-affliates who have even engaged us in some shocking rounds of the Mennonite game. Just when you think you've left everything you know behind, it moves in down the hall. : ) Go figure!
