I'm a mommy!
So I've been feeling kind of lonely lately and a little blah about things and this weekend I decided I needed to do something to pick things a bit. So after church today I went out and made the biggest impulse buy of my life. Well, okay it wasn't really an impulse because I had been thinking about it since Friday, but still, when I got to the store what I thought I was going to get wasn't there and I had to get something else. I'm really about how it all worked out and now I'm sitting here eagerly awaiting the arrival of my little Yogi. That's her name, Yogi. Yogi the Yamaha, because if you're going to buy a piano you can't go buying anything but the best! That's right, I, Monica Michelle Friesen just bought myself a piano! Crazy? Maybe, but I'm in China and I'm kind of taking to the illogical lifestyle a bit. Nothing too nuts, just little deviations from the norm when it feels like life needs a little shaking up. Up until Christmas I was practicing piano at school, but I had to go super early in the morning before the kids got there and since we came back from Christmas break, I just haven't been able to get up at 6 anymore. At first I thought I could practice in the evenings or at lunch maybe, but there are always kids practicing in the music room and it just hasn't worked out. So after three months without any piano time to speak of, I'm going LOCO! And with three more months to go, I knew something had to be done, because really what kind of life can one be expected to live if they have no music? In two hours my baby's getting delivered and I can't wait! She's a beautiful silver colour with a black stand and a black bench. She's electronic which really wasn't my first choice, but I didn't want to pay double the price for a real piano. See I do have some self-control! She has beautiful weighted keys with a huge dynamic range and she's just want my apartment's been missing! I know I sound like a crazy person, personifying my musical instrument like this, but I am just that excited about it! Hope you all have a great Easter!
