y2k Diary

Website Summary

What content will the site contain?

The content will contain daily diary prompts, and will be structured like a personalized y2k themed blog. There will also be a shadow work option. When I think of my blog I think of the show Victorious and the character's little updates on "The Slap.com" as well as MySpace. People will also be able to simply "post" without a diary prompt. There will be a feeling box where they will text a tiny description on how they're feeling with a little emoji. I would love to have personalized emojis for the website, but that can be tricky with copyright and such. People will have a cute little profile as well and will be able to post privately or publicly. I will probably have either a like or dislike button for public posts or just add a comment section. I don't think I want to add both.

Where will you get all of the content for your site (ie. images & text)?

I am thinking Tumblr or pinterest. That would more up my ally with my theme. If needed, I could probably get some images from Instagram. It would be easier to find the creators of the photos and ask their permission to use their art. I could also try clipart on Word. Those photos are generally safe regarding Copyright.

Why should users care about the focus of the site?

My site would bring a sense of nostalgia for people in my generation and others will appreciate the y2k theme. The focus of the site would be rant relief and personalization. The site will have a whole personal web page just for someone's profile and they can choose the background for their page, cute avatar photos to choose from if they don't want to use their own photo, and other things.

Why should a site be built for this?

I have only found one y2k themed blog called everskies.com. I feel that there should be more varieties and more options than just one website. Also it will be beneficial to one's mental health with journaling.

What would you like users to do at your site?

I would like users to feel special for having such a personalized website and feel "at home" and comfortable enough to post exactly how they feel.

What is the goal of the site?

The goal of the site is comfortability with the nostalgia of y2k. Other goals include a feeling of safety in expressing themselves, and hopefully making new friends.
